I booked a holiday through monstertravel a few weeks back and are due to leave on the 7th of August in a few days time but have just learnt that the 4* hotel we were booked (and confirmed) on has been overbooked and they want to bump us off to a lower rated hotel in a different resort with unfavourable reports and after hearing my disgust have offered me the difference in price between the two hotels.
This travel agent prices the flight and accommodation separately and said we can cancel the entire accommodation but not the flights or should we want to choose any other hotel we would have to pay quite a few hundred more but still end up with a 2* star rated hotel but not the one we have already been moved to. I know we could force them to just offer a refund and forget about it but we need a holiday!!!
Based that I'm left with a flight for myself, wife & 5 r old daughter leaving on 07/08/08 and returning on 14/08/08 does anyone have any suggestions where I might get a reasonable apartment for up to £700? Would prefer Cala D'or, Millar or Alcudia.
Any help appreciated.
