Hi Tracey, if you order your sterling travellers cheques online via LTSB website there is no commision fee. Or how about the Post office or Marks and Spencer?
they may say commision free but you will usualy buy at a poorer rate and the same on exchange
I got mine from the post office it was the cheapest place I could find
Yesterday, Co-op travel were offering 1.24 for euros if you bought more than £400 worth...
I got some euros from my local tescos last night and the rate was 1.2481 no matter how little you bought.
just checked tesco out with travelex, travelex comes out with the better deal

Hi... I got 1.27 with my nationwide flexaccount in Benidorm
Just waiting on my card now!
I thought she had gone to a TA's to get such a poor rate, but no it was the Post Office who are usually one of the better places to get currency in the UK.
I dread to think what the rate would have been at a TA.

Luci, the rate yesterday at First Choice was just under 1.17. I only wanted to exchange £60 (money the children had been given), if I'd have had £500+ they'd have given me 1.23. Glad I have my Nationwide account for the rest of my holiday spends, Visa rate today is 1.28.
Just thought of a question...I know that Nationwide do not charge for ATM withdrawals but do the Banks whose machine I use charge? I'm going to Menorca, does anyone know if there are any ATM's that I should avoid? Or should they all be free with my Nationwide card? Thanks, Nic.
For example, ATM's in Las Vegas impose their own fees of around $4.99, but as I said, I haven't found this in Europe.

nicJW, If you are asked how you want to be charged, you need to ensure you select the local currency when you use the ATM. Do
applied today for a nationwide credit card
Applied for a Flexaccount last week, looks like the best way to go
