You're spot on with Kassiopi. We stayed in the harbour area in May 2006 and loved it there. It's an old fishing vilage that's managed to expand and yet keep the traditional Greek feel. There are one or two english type bars with Karaoke but def no lager louts and in the main the bars and restaurants are Greek. There is no beautiful beach, but there are a couple of rocky coves where the water is lovely and clear. You can choose from a variety of boat trips from the harbour. I can recommend the evening boat trip to Corfu town where you can have a nice meal and a wonder around the myriad of shops in the old town.

We don't normally return to the same place as we've so many more places we want to visit but Kassiopi is one resort I can say that we will probably return to. Take a look at the resort report on this site and see what you think.

Can I just say that you've already made a great choice in picking Corfu. I've been to Corfu, Zante, Santorini, Kos and Crete and I'd say that Corfu was my favourite (also Santorini for the scenery).

Kassiopi is lovely but what about Paleokastritsa on the west coast. This is a really scenic resort with lots of great restaurants. Also handy for Corfu town if you wish to visit the sights there. No Engish pubs there but lots of lovely bars with really friendly staff. Lovely area to explore if you enjoying walking.

I agree that Paleokastritsa is a beautiful resort. We haven't visited there since 1990 when the resort was very small. We called there as part of a day long island trip and took a sail on a glass bottom boat. It was one of the resorts we researched 2 years ago before deciding on Kassiopi. Most of the accomodation was set in the hills above the resort, which put us off.
