Derwentrocker, why not print yourself a map and start marking everything on it that is recommended too?

Street names are quite easy. Las Vegas Boulevard is 'The Strip'. The intersections are quite simple - Tropicana Ave at the Tropicana Hotel (also NYNY, MGM and Excal corner).

Then there's Flamingo Road more or less at the Flamingo. It's actually at Bill's but then Bill's is part of HET (Harrahs Entertainment) now anyway. Bill's is small so it just sits on the edge of the Flamingo hotel.

The next big intersection is at TI,Palazzo,Wynn,Fasion Show Mall. It's Spring Mountain Road to the West, then it's Sands to the East. I think the Wynn sits on the old Sands site, hence the name. Sands Ave becomes Twain Ave as you go out there east towards Boulevard Mall. The bus stop is on the side of Palazzo to get out to that Mall.

There are two other main points of interest off the strip. Downtown (just take 'The Deuce' double decker bus directly north). Then there is the corner out on West Flamingo with The Palms, The Rio and The Gold Coast. These can be accessed via shuttles. The easiest one to find is the Gold Coast shuttle, which is on the side of Bills, ie just slightly east along Flamingo Road. There is also a shuttle to The Orleans from there. There is a shuttle to the Rio from the back of Harrah's (they're both HET properties), and there is a Palms shuttle, although I'm not sure where it stops - maybe out the back or Miracle Mile and Fashion Show Mall. I'm not that sure though. The Rio has a fantastic buffet, and the Masquerade show in the sky. The Gold Coast has a very good low price buffet. The Rio also has a really nice lounge with an oudoor area overlooking the strip - Voodoo Lounge. You can get free passes on the Voodoo Lounge website. Otherwise it's about $20 in!

You got your bearings now? The roads are pretty much in grid structure, although the strip does bend.
