ok , just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to go about this
i had a booking with fc for dec this year , and due to unforseen circumstances am unable to go.
I rang fc on 8th may and on 15th may as i was going to cancel the holiday , i was advised both times on the phone that i could cancel the booking but needed to pay £41 for insurance , or i could amend it for £20 per person. i also had the above info confirmed to me in an email from fc
2 weeks ago i rang up fc to amend the booking , and i spoke to 7 diff people before someone actually was able to amend.
i wanted the holiday moved to next ocotber . i was quoted several diff prices on this call to amend the booking and was told i had not paid enogh of my old booking , even though i had paid them £270
apparenlty they cannot move across the old money from the booking because they now have a new systemn in.
finally i was told that i could pay a low deposit of £25 per person , and had to pay abother £160 within 14 days when i received the old deposit back.
after going ahead with the booking , the agent went through the info with me , and suddenly i had to pay another £160 within 8 weeks as i ahd choose low deposit. (this i wasnt advised at the start)
i then asked her to cancel the new booking as i was getting rather irate , as now i had been on the phone for over 50 minutes. i was told she could not cancel it. next thing she did , and i was told she would refund me the £50 for low deposit.
i had to pay £41 to cancel the org booking , but have now lost out on the deposit of £260 due to mistakes made by them.
any ideas if i should ask for a refund of my money
when you cancel a holiday and get asked to pay extra to do with insurance, that is usually to do with if you had free insurance. was this the case?
how many people are travelling on the holiday?
the new systems thing is true, but as i am not working on them yet in my shop, i dont know how it works with regards to transferring money.
have they now definatly cancelled your old booking?

if you paid £270, im guessing your deposit was £260 and £10 for insurance. is that right?
as deposits are normally £130pp
as deposits are normally £130pp
deposit was £260 , the 10 was extra 10 i paid online off the booking
i just looked at the cancelation letter , it said on it - deposit of £260 and 2 insurance costing £59 , which is not what i paid
the whole booking has been a mess up since the day i booked it lol
