Just keep your towels from the day before and change them later when the towel boys arrive.

hi all,
we got back yesterday, had a good time but suffered with the sickness :cry there were 8 of us in the group and only the 4 year old and my sister didnt get ill.
apart from that we did have a good holiday, we upgraded to a kids den room through ramy at the hotel, which was fantastic :tup
our kids are aged 4 and 13, fc cutoff age is 12 but we were still given a kids den! they put in an extra fold up bed with a proper mattress on it for our 13 year old and it was fine for him and it fitted in the den. he wouldn`t of fitted in the bunkbed as he`s very tall! we were on the ground floor in block 5 right by the main pool room 5101,we just stepped off our patio and onto the sunbeds :sun2 . the rooms are big,the bed is massive and hard but surprisingly comfortable.
you did hear the entertainment at night but once you closed the patio doors it didnt disturb you.
the weather the first week was great, but very windy the second week blowing the towels and sunbed mattresses everywhere.
its freezing back here!!!!!!!!

Hi All
Been to HV and been back 24 hours now and fed up with this weather already!
We had room 5103 which was right next to the main pool. upgraded with Ramy (there are at loads of Ramys there so good luck for those who want to speak to him!) for a kids den but he didnt have any left so gave us this suite instead, because our kids are older it was perfect! the largest holiday accomodation we have ever stayed in. perfect location because we just strolled out to the sunbeds in the morning (6am) and sat on our patio and listened to entertainment in the evenings.
Scotty at the View Bar is a brilliant singer, although he isnt on for long and rather late.
The doctor is right next door (wish we knew that when husband got really poorly!)
Block 6 would be perfect for young kids but for older kids I would really recommend block 5 but we have been told that when the weather starts to get cold they do not use the main pool, they use the quiet pool, so depending on when you go please consider this. the weather really changed on the 1st September, still sunny but spotted a few clouds and the wind was really really strong, although the wind is still incredibly hot (especially evenings) I think you may need to consider taking a light cardie.
the staff are absolutely brilliant (having a blonde teenage daughter I was worried), they are all very polite and friendly. We tipped our cleaner £100 egyptian because he cleaned up after husband and then still gave him lots of simpathy. We didnt feel pressured to tip any other staff (although the guests getting special attention must of!)
Entertainment team were very good but the location of it was awful and the plastic glasses were horrible, each drink tasted different although it was the same drink ordered!
Our 14 year old loved the wavelength :yikes (although she said she wasnt going to go!) our 9 year old went a few times and really enjoyed them aswell.
Husband was really really poorly (No he didnt drink alcohol during the day and didnt sunbathe all day either!), daughter lost nearly a stone, other daughter moaned of tummy ache but nothing major, i was fine!! :rofl maybe the vodka and coke saved me :que
Kids loved the holiday, husband enjoyed the holiday but I wouldnt go back to Egypt.
(Oh and probably off topic but the flights are awful!)
Feel free to ask any questions..I will be as truthful as possible!

hi louise,
yes definately take a buggy! the complex is very big and depending on where your room is you may have a long way to walk to the entertainment at night and back again.the little one can fall asleep in it too. my 4 year old hasn`t used one for over a year too but he fell asleep in it most nights after a hectic day in the pools and slides :)
have a great time :sun2

Im off to holiday village red sea in a couple of weeks with a one year old and just have a few questions to help us prepare.

He still has full fat milk morning and night, will this be available from the hotel?

Is there weetabix available for breakfast (his Favourite)?

Will electrical appliances such as hairdryer and straigtners work in Egypt with european 2 prong plug?

Are beach towel readily available or is it advised to take own?

We have a swim up room booked, do these have baths or showers?

I have seen no option of a cot being available on fc website/brochure, anyone know how we request this - prior or on arrival?

Thanks

Hi Louise

My little girl is 3 too and hates the oushchair but every time we go away she crashes out in it, am taking a fleece type blanket to put over her too.
I hope the wind drops too, don't fancy being sand blasted. :rofl

I'm looking forward to meeting you for a drink for anniversaries, keep a space at the bar for 2 and a buggy please?! we fly on 29 Sept from Newcastle so will only just catch your last few days, hopefully you can pass on all your tips to us then.
I don't know if you've booked late checkout but your are welcome to use our room to get changed etc. if not

Hi Gemlou

Have a 3 year old who still has milk and have been asking same question, yes you can get in the hotel at breakfast time and in the 247 supermarket near the hotel.
Only rooms that have baths are junior suites and kids room, I emailed the hotel for this info.

If you need any further info let me know as the forum's are getting huge now and finding info difficult

Hi Lara (Flooz) will save a space or 2 at the bar for us to meet up ! I havent booked a late check-out but may do it when we get there! if not thank you for your very kind offer :) , have you got any plans for your anniversary? I am hoping to get a table booked at one of the reservation only resturants while the kids are in the kids club ! :D just ordered a card off the internet for d/h as you cant buy 10th anni ones anywhere. was trying to think of a small gift I could take with me but am a bit stumped for ideas !

didnt manage to get any packing done :duh had a real lazy day watching dvds and playing lego with the kids!, but I have done 14days straight through so a well earned and needed slob-out day, not to long now and I can ring to upgrade, just need to organise a party for d/d's birthday next week and get oldest d/d ready for a swimming gala on sat which is also d/h birthday so need to get sorted for that too ! oh and work everyday as well !

No rest for the wicked ! ( well in 10ish days there will be :D :D )

Hi Louise

It's our anniversary when we get back as well as hubby's birthday and has just been my birthday but am using holiday as a 3 way celebration, well saves 3 nights out and 3 lots of baby sitting money!!
;)
Am planning to have a night at the seafood restaurant as our night out but whether little legs will go and stay in the evening kids club remains to be seen. Everyone is raving about it, but all saying need to book restaurants asap, what happens if book table and can't get space in club for kids? Suppose same as home - romance out the window and fish fingers and chips are in!! :rofl

Haven't got tickets through yet but hopefully will have by this time next week otherwise I'll be panicing.

Do you know if the kids clubs for 3 year old are chargable? and how much they charge for swimkids and if a 3 year old can go to this?

thanks Lara

hi louise,
yes there is a playground behind block 5, on the way to the main pool. my 4 year old used it with his older cousin in the evening just before we went out for dinner as it was far too hot during the day.
he loved the kids club but i did have to leave him screaming a couple of times as he didnt want to go in :yikes as they do tend to change the fc reps each time he went so new people didnt help the situation.when i went to pick him up he told me that he had fun!!! :tup by the second week he knew them all. :) they are very good with the kids. times are 10 - 11.30 (my son went to this one as not so busy and he not so tired), 12 - 1.30, 2.30 - 4.30 ( this one was busy!!) i dont know if there`s another session before the evening one? evening time 8.30pm - 10.30pm costs you £5.
kid clubs in groups 3-5,6-8 in same room but they do seperate them.
swim kids start from aged 3.
the older kids loved the wavelength too!!!!!
they only charge for the evening sessions and special picnic party.
any other questions?
