Pebbles - Forgot to say what Arancine is.......it's a starter in Fiamma, albeit a big one! Basically it's 'Rice' balls, which are more like breadcrumbs to be honest, about the size of golf balls. You get 5 of them and inside there is Kobe beef and I think it's arborio rice, and it comes with a delicious tomato pasta type sauce. Very filling but delicious, costs about $13 I think so not cheap but well worth it, Kobe beef is seriously expensive, it's comes from the cows that the Japanese rub beer into their bodies to help prepare it for us steak lovers!!
MONDAY NIGHT:
Feel much better now, cold really drying up.
Got tram up to Mandalay Bay from Excalibur for Mamma Mia. Picked up tickets from box office on arrival, got my prices a bit wrong, I paid $58 for them but they were front row, just right of centre! Best theatre seats we've ever had, it was so good to be almost on the stage! The show itself was excellent, one of the best shows I've ever seen, Linda said it IS the best one she has seen. Not only is the music and storyline good but there is a lot of humour in it and it has you laughing out loud quite a bit. We came out of the theatre just after 10pm. We hadn't eaten so we decided to go into the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay, never been in there before. We had a Mojito cocktail each and I ordered a cajun chicken sandwich with fries and Linda had Southern Fried chicken with mash and cauliflower. Large portions and it was very nice........until Linda got to her last two bits (had 4 in total) of fried chciken to notice they were very pink inside and obviously not cooked properly. I told her to say something as we're always too content to put up with things in restaurants in particular. We told the waiter and he took the plate away, just saying 'OK' when told it was not cooked properly. He asked if Linda wanted more and she said no thanks. He bought us our bill a minute or so later so just as well we didn't want dessert!! On checking the bill they had removed the cost of the chicken, rightly so. The bill was just over $30 with the two cocktails and my meal, which I have to say again, was very nice and well worth the $9.95 it cost.
We stayed in the MB for a while gambling on slots. Had a few little wins here and there but was down about $80 by the time we left. Decided to go back to MGM. Got the tram back to Excalibur and then thought I'd have a quick look at the table games in there - they had my favourite game, 'Let it Ride' poker with a 3 card poker bonus with just a $5 minimum bet so I changed up a $100 and sat down. I had a couple of half decent hands but overall really didn't get much at all and lost the lot in an hour or so. The lady next to me was having extraordinary luck, just before I sat down she hit a straight flush on her 3 card poker hand, winning just over $500. The very next hand she got a full house, winning over $400 and within the next 40 minutes, hit another full house, three of a kind and several straights meaning she won well over $1500 just whilst I was at the table, incredible to watch and it makes me insanely jealous!!
Walked back over to MGM and stopped off at our favourite machines, just as you walk into the casino by the poker room/rainforest cafe, there are some Monopoly machines we've had quite a bit of luck on. Stuck too much money in there and lost. Whilst Linda was still on there I spotted some interesting machines along the wall so had a look. I had just over $100 left in my wallet so thought, what the hell, it's not like there's a credit crunch or anything

and put it in. To qualify for the bonus you had to play max credits so I went for it.....then realised that made it $5 a spin

oh well, I didn't expect this to take too long! With about $11 remaining I got the bonus, it amounted to 8 free spins and during those spins I managed to win 120 credits, yup, just 120 poxy credits - $6. Then I realised I had been getting some 'hot shot' symbols as well and at the start I was required to get 8 of them and I'd actually amassed 9. Looking up I saw that I had won the bottom and second bottom progressives which worked out at $277......RESULT!!
Cashed out and went to bed feeling even better than I had 5 minutes earlier. On the way back I thought I would try getting some money out the ATM anyway for the rest of the week and found my card has been blocked by my bank. I appreciate security but they just block it the second you use it anywhere but your home town it seems! By the time we got back to the room it was 01:30am so I called the help number I have on my mobile (not sure what that will cost but it will probably be cheaper than a hotel phone)! Took a couple of mins to get through but eventually was told it had been blocked and was now unblocked....haven't tried it again yet so fingers crossed!
TUESDAY:
Nothing planned for today so down to the pool at 08:30. Noticed a LOT of people arriving yesterday so expecting it to be busy today. Nice clear skies, temps forecast to be around mid nineties again. No sign of Franks hot sausage so I put my thong on.....................only joking I wouldn't be seen DEAD in a thong.....although of course people would be giving me admiring glances

Spent all day by the pool, the tan is coming along very nicely and cold pretty much gone. Had some potato skins and chicken for lunch by the pool (we have stayed by pool 1 in the Signature all the time, it's busy but still quiet and really laid back). We ran out of supplies for sarnies so need to get some tonight! skins and chicken were very expensive, around $25.....but the portions were gigantic, nice too.
Tonight we are going to use our Monorail passes again and go for a walk in a dangerous area down the the Wynn......NOT! Must admit, there was no sign of a shuttle bus when we were there or even a sign that said there was one that ran occasionally. Tonight we're going to head down to Sahara, just in case it's not here next year! Will pprobably have a table game in there if it's $5 minimums which I expect it will be. Not sure where we'll eat tonight, don't want anything special so we'll play it by ear, might be Denny's or something like that.
Tomorrow night we have tickets booked for 'Bite' at the Stratosphere, a topless revue show which I can't wait to get my teeth into. I wonder if camera's are allowed?

I think not. We are going to eat at Roxy's Diner tomorrow night, love it in there, it has a real 50's feel and all the waiters and waitresses take it in turns to sing karaoke, it's a great idea and they can all sing! Food is good and failry cheap too, will report on that tomorrow.
Bye for now!
