I have only seen two elephants around Baga/Arpora so the shops don't do much business I guess. !

As for meals..... Starlight in Arpora for an Indian meal, J&A's Italian for a special night out and a change.

There is another elephant shop opposite Flambees just to confuse things

I'm sure there must be proper thread for this and I will get told off for not using it BUT can anyone tell me anything about these restaurants:

Bombra's in Candolim
La Fenice in Calangute
Ritz Classic in Panjim
Venite in Panjim

We are trying to find some new restaurants to go to in December and have heard of these but don't really know whether they are worth trying.

Thanks

Hi to all you food lovers,

CANDOLIM AND CALANGUTE
Souymens Kitchen, is excellent
After Seven which you will all know ( except BOB )
Rising waves, very good
Shivers, opp Kingfisher villa just down small lane, they do a fantasic Sunday carvery eat as much or as little as you like, top class.
Fisherman's cove corner of Highland beach hotel road
Palm Tree upstairs opposite Public bar near bus station / car park
Navarna at the bottom of Holiday street excellent value for money and fantastic steak
Foxy's on Highland beach road another great steak house and also nice curries

NERUL VILLAGE
Riverside, great food and great value, just over Nerul bridge on the left.
Amigo's just under Nerul Bridge, fantastic fresh fish and great egg and chips yes egg and chips in India it's good for a change.
Bhatti bar at crossroads in the village turn left and follow the road it is on the left, be there by 7.00 to 7.30 or no seats.
P O S H after seven's sister restaurant over bridge and first right, a must to try.

BON APPETITE

Hotel Venite in Panjim has great atmosphere, especially if you get a street balcony table, but very mediocre food when we had lunch there last year.

I'd definately give the Ritz Classic a try BrenLiz.
A favourite with the locals and always busy, the fish platter is excellent, and huge big enough for two.
I haven't tried it, but a Goan friend says the Fish Curry and rice is the best.

Hi BrenLiz,

Yes i have been to P O S H and the food is superb, staff very good and the setting is fantastic, it's a really enjoyable night and we know Leo the owner and all the staff because we live next door, you will have to let us know when you plan to go and maybe we could meet up, we shall probably see you at one of the meets or maybe i will, the Mrs is not over keen on the meets but she loves P O S H do you know what it stands for ?. Have you been to it's sister restaurant After Seven? we went there for the opening night on Wednesday and they have changed the menu slightly but it was as good as ever.

I could not agree more about Venita, fantastic place, you would not look twice from outside but it is lovely and the food is very good.
