The address I sent it to was:
India Visa Application Centre, 1-3 Canalside,Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex, UB4 0JN.
Good Luck.
Just heard some interesting news. A friend of mine told me that her friend has got a 5 year visa from the Birmingham office. He has property out here and has his deeds registered. He had an appointment with them, took along his paperwork for the property and argued his case. I understand that there is no 180 day restriction on leaving the country. So things may be looking up for those who live out here long term.
Just thought, when I completed the applications on line you have to choose where to make the application, I put down Victoria, but sent to Hayes - just assumed that they all go to the HCI in London anyhow.
The one thing I did wrong was get a single entry instead of multiple entry, but I'll only be going once anyway. I know to look out for that now.
Not happy though that you have to pay an admin charge, but have no alternative way of applying. The extra was nearly enough to pay for a third visa, but letting VMF sort out the return postage was simpler than getting perplexed at the Post Office, and was cheaper than taking two days off work, and two return rail fares to London.
I suppose we will have to wait and see what challenges the next season will bring.
Dave, I am a bit of a pc dunce, having got my visa from Birmingham for more years than I care to remember I just assumed that applying to the closest High Commission was common sense!!
Anyway here goes and fingers crossed
Roxey. When you think of all the red tape involved with getting into India, common sense doesn't figure very highly on their list !!!!!! I can see how easily you made the error.
chilly
if it says processed application is ready for collection at birmingham, does this mean it will be posted tonight as we have paid for return post
Lizzley, I'm not sure, at no point did I see that message, but I could have just not logged in whilst it said that. If you sent prepaid envelopes/paid for return postage then I'm sure they will be winging their way to you soon.
sorted they are on the way back via royal mail
chilly
it seems to be a ten working day turn around taking into account their holidays and that is at birmingham

roxey we sent ours to the Victoria address in london I have just read about yours coming back
HELP I've just completed visa applications on-line, filled everything in, got web reference number and then to proceed to pay on line, but forgot to print out application forms. Is there anyway I can retrieve the application to print out the forms.
it says i can track reference number on my receipt. what receipt i dont have one, i paid them to return it to me
Panic over. Managed to retrieve the forms.
sorry if i sound stupid but can you still print off the visa form and fill in manually not sure if you can still do the old way or you have to do the new online way its for my daughters so i have printed them will these be ok to send thank you
Hi Toe, it does seem that if you are taking your applications to the office in person you can fill them in by hand, but if you are posting them you have to do them online .
thanks for that squids will get them to do online
