so sorry squigs but it's all over now, I am SO relieved, I'm gonna have to squeal! champaine Fiona!
Brilliant news Judsmiles, such a relief. It was almost as bad waiting for yours as it was for ours. You will have to have a to celebrate.
As you have got a permit for restricted areas, are you going to use it??
Did the postman get a kiss??
chilly
must be mental
Is this the bit were I can relax now, my blood pressure is sky high! didn't kiss the postie, he was drenched Fiona, but he made my day cos even in this vile weather he still wears shorts ... bless 'im
I will Polly, thank you, I'm just watching for that yard arm! Thanks chilly x
I received my visa's today, that is the quickest it has ever been 6 days in total.
Tomitma yours are back also, when this system works it really is better than before, when it works!!
Thats brilliant Judsmiles
Think we should give vfs and ihc some credit for a system that overall is very good,
My visa has just been forwarded to the consulate general of Birmimingham yeasterday, how long should I expect its return?
hot dog, ours went to the HCI in London last Wednesday and we got them back on Saturday. Got to admit this is a much better system than in the past, even though it is nerve racking sending your passport off and wondering whether you have done the forms right. Seems that its OK for most people
Ive just moved house a couple of weeks ago, so i dont actually live in Bolton anymore, but i study at Bolton university.
I live in Darwen now, so i assume it will be the same procedure as it is if your from Bolton.

also made up for everyone who has got theirs back as well. if im honest this system is ok and prefer paying online as opposed to postal orders. more info would be greatif there is a problem with your application and as soon as possible. waiting 2 weeks and you having to ring them at a very expensive rate is a bit too much. when all said and done they do request 3 different ways to get in touch with you on the application form.

I would read the instructions for yourself !
Smudger2.... they tell you it takes up to 10 days. Everyone seems to be getting them back within 10 days so why worry before that as long as you followed the instructions. Ringing them up to find out where they are just causes more delay all around !
I am amazed that so many people are making a big deal about something that is pretty simple if you followed the instructions.
There's a theme here. Blokes have an excuse because they never follow instructions but try to do without. Girls usually have more sense !
Yummyyummy , I wouldn't assume anything ever when it comes to filling in red tape forms. Smudger2.... they tell you it takes up to 10 days. would have loved to get mine back in 10 days but 15th sept to 15th oct seems a lot longer than that. and when THEY dont get in touch with you what are you supposed to do and their excuse is that your signature dosnt match your passport. well it beggers belief. if when they had recieved my passports they had rung me straight away and informed me it could have all been sorted out there and then as all i had to do was fax them another form and all was sorted out and visas came back within a week. passports are valuable documents and in this day and age of identity theft you can see why people worry when online tracking says nothing but an application has been made online on the first day you started the process.

Hi Andy, in your previous post you didn't mention a month's wait. That is worrying ! How different was the signature ?
Our Visas all ready and waiting for collection at the Visa Centre in Edinburgh. I took them thru so my friend who is travelling at Xmas will collect them. Think she is going thru on Monday.

you betcha mate it wouldn't have been difficult to email or call on one of my (required) numbers, but so much easier just to use\my SDE to return instead.

I did fill everything in correctly and followed simple instructions as you put it, and I did lots of reading up too...it was VFS's appauling correspondance and people skills in my case (I think that's what Smudger 2 means) VFS global do make mistakes, as in my case, where the fault lies very clearly with them, as they sent mine back for non payment even though payment was made weeks earlier, 24 days in fact, so not just a case of following simple instructions,
