hi
we have booked again for 2 wks in May & another 2wks in Sept, as a week is not long enough we enjoy marmaris so much. and we have made a lot of good friends now i.e Club Aida and at the piccadilly at the bottom of the road we hate coming home to the horrible weather in the UK.
We have just booked to go in May the week the Englsh schools are off, we were there the same time last year and have been keeping a check on the prices. Originally they wanted about 1550 (sorry pound sign not working) for 2 adults and 2 children but tonight they had free child places available and we got it for 1115. Looking forward to joining in with the thread again, anyone have any suggestion how we can get a pool view, emailed the hotel last year but no luck.
All very quiet on these review sites, I presume that Club Aida is closed in the off season.
Club Aida closed for the winter end of Oct 2008,doesnt open again until 1st May.
Hi I am new to this site and would like to find out about the flexi dine option at the Club Aida, Has anyone done this? What is it like to eat out around the hotel? Are there many restaurants etc, never been to Turkey before always gone to Ibiza and Majorca but felt like a change this year. We are a family of 5, kids 13,15,17 so just hope there is plenty to keep them occupied and happy? PLEASE HELP. Thanks
My kids were 10 and 12 - we absolutely loved Turkey and have booked to go back again this year. Definitley do some of the trips - they are fabulous.
Can anyone tell me what Club Aida apartments are like in Marmaris. I'm going here in July this year with my husband and two boys (aged 13 and 15) and was wondering if there are things going on during the day eg. water polo etc. Also would you recommend a particular room or NOT recommend a certain room - we've asked for a pool view but you can't always guarantee this. Are these apartments near the beach and bars etc. Any info would be much appreciated. Also if there anyone out there who's going in July when we are there?
Regards
Helen.
Hi Helen we went to Club Aida last May and had a great time have booked again for this year, if you do a search there is a thread with loads of info. When we were there they had waterpolo every day and a pool game, darts and killer pool. We asked for a pool view but didnt get one, there was a lot of people complaining but I dont think there are loads of pool view rooms. You are not near the beach, its about a 15 min walk, but we love walking down and eating on the beach front on a night, There a few bars near and plenty in walking distance, plus the water park and supermarket. Hope this helps
Went to Club Aida last year in August and it was excellent. Tried to Book again for this year but it's full when we want to go so are staying in Club Anastasia which has excellent reviews too so it will be interesting to compare. Can recommend the hairdressers in the hotel - try them they really are good and cheap by comparrison with prices at home. We never actually ate our evening meal in the hotel as we enjoyed going out into Marmaris or Icmeler in the evening and there are so many restaurants to choose from. We did sometimes have breakfast and lunch there and it was nice although the menu never varied so I wouldn't recommend the flexidaine for more than 3 - 5 days in a fortnight as you definitely have more choice outwith the hotel. The fruit platter they did was a nice refreshing treat in the hot sun! The hotel was full when we were there and although we didn't have a problem with sun loungers, as I get up earlyish, some people arriving early afternoon had trouble. The ususal story - people putting towels on sunbeds and clearing off for most of the day. However I have to say that they did lift the towels if the beds weren't being used for half an hour or so and other people needed them - thats got to be the first time I have ever seen that rule enforced! Just tell the people beside you if you are going back up to the apartment for some lunch and they can make sure they don't lift your towels!! The sun stays around longest near the bottom end of the pool - just a tip for the sun worshippers! The only thing I wish was for waiter service around the pool - they had it in our hotel in Icmeler and it was great -you didn't have to get up and trail to the bar when you wanted a drink. Other than that it was great.
Thanks for all that information, much appreciated, can we walk to Icelemer from club aida or do we need to get a taxi. We actually stayed at Club Anastasia last July, you will love it.
We went by the dolmus into Icmeler as its a fair distance away and you can catch one a few minutes walk away from Aida.
Oh thats good news about Club Anastasia - I only booked 2 weeks ago and was disappointed not to be able to get Club Aida but a change is nice too. The animation team at Aida were very popular with the teenagers and they had pool games etc daily so I'm sure your boys will have a great time. They have a huge pool so even when they're playing water polo and stuff , there's plenty of room for others to have a dip. There is a "fans of club Aida" on facebook with loads of photos and stuff - have a look. When in July do you go? We travel out on the 6th.
we dont go until july 27 (kidz hols). That's a shame about not getting into the club aida, but like you say a change is as good as the rest. Oh I'm glad there's something going on during the day for the ladz, not that they will join in all the time but at least its there if they want to. What room was you in (if you can remember) and would you recommend it. We have asked for a room looking over the pool but a few people have said they wouldnt go for these as it can get rather noisy. Thank's for all this and I will have a look on facebook.
Helen.
Ah we will be coming home just as you are looking forward to beginning your holiday! We were in room 3203 which was at the side of the hotel. It looked over onto the residential homes of Turkish families and every night we used to have a drink on the balcony and watch an old couple tending their garden! It was fine, there was no noise (from the pool/bar and we had some privacy from passers-by, unlike the rooms at the front where everyone entering and leaving could see and also had the road. I imagine the pool view rooms could be noisy. Forgot to say, there is only air conditioning in the bedroom but the other room gets really warm so you might want to buy/hire a fan for there. My mum slept there with the patio doors open, but still found it rather hot! The air conditioning works off your room key and so we just used my tesco club card and kept it in the slot so it was on all day, and left the bedroom door open and it did help to cool the other room down a bit. Are you in a 1 or 2 bed apartment as I think there aren't that many 2 bed apartments and not sure of their location.?
Ive checked tons of reviews and main points were to keep receipts for the club aida pay card thing as the machine balls up a lot and to make sure you bring your own first aid as the onsite nurse thing is a rip off. Also if u break anything dont pay the price she says tell her you want to see receipts (apparantly she halfs the price)
Location wise it looks ok, ive stayed Marmaris before and its a short walk to front and about 25mins up to the harbour. Nice easy stretch looking at scenery though. Woooo bring on June!!!
hey samrae,id say the location is good,at least kinda on its own and not right beside other hotels,a wee bit uphill thats all lol,id say its more or less kinda opposite portobello!id say its about a 10-15 min walk down to point centre where gima used to be and from there everything is easy to find!its a huge complex,i worked in it briefly last year cos i work with children!theres a kids club too (or at least there was last year-run by funtasia) which is free and keeps the kids occupied..........as for the onsite nurse, most of the time i saw her she was sitting with the hairdresser chatting lol,i dont think she got much 'custom' because as you say too expensive!if something was to happen then there are local hospitals that are fine anyway!x
Also i know this has been done before but what could we expect weather wise, is it sill going to be lovely and warm during the day?
Id be grateful for any comments and advise - thanks!

me and my family were at club aida lust july and october...its a fantastic hotel,we are booked to go twice again this year , we go on the 8th october also. where are you flying from?
the weather was lovely last october ,warm during the day , a bit cooler at night but still pleasant. The staff are also fab, they are very helpful. we stayed at the hotel most nights to eat as the food was excellent , but there are lots of places not to far if you want a wander and it takes 15 mins or so to walk to beach front.
feel free to ask anything else
Nicola
