I am a lover of Turkey but I do believe what the poster is saying.
I have heard occasional stories from family/friends /work colleagues over the years where they have stayed in accomodations where they have been made to feel uncomfortable when going out in the evening to eat elsewhere. Owners and staff do sometimes pressure tourists into eating where they are staying but it is a minority.
Sure we all agree that it is up to the individual whether they want to stay "in" to eat or whether to try some of the
lovely restaurants. I know that Turkish people do rely on tourism and want guests to spend money during their stay
but most of us wouldnt want to spend every single day of our holiday and every single evening eating in the same place.
Whilst on holiday this year we spent a lot of time during the day around the pool area buying drinks/snacks/ice cream but in the evening we liked to go out and about. We would return after dinner and have a few drinks with the owner and family and they were fine with this. We were never made to feel uncomfortable and infact the family would always ask where we had eaten that night and if we enjoyed it.
It is certainly most unacceptable to experience the sort of behaviour that the poster has mentioned.
