spoke to vinney today he will deinately not have vinneys this season he is going to be working at the mobor beach resort hotel and is looking forward to seeing all his friends
For Margao....Tato's is excellant for an authentic breakast and Banjara (sp?) is fabulous for Mughlai style cooking and has a lovely A/C basement restaurant
Just been taken over and food excellent, but service a little slow, hopefully will speed up when they have had more practise.

Can you tell us how to get there Karen? Alongside the Haathi Mahal or further ?
My suggestions for Bogmalo is Johns. See-thecookscottage.typepad.com/curry/chilli_calamari.html
When I desperate to eat some vegetables he made a plate of lightly boiled, plain mixed vegetables even though it was not on the menu. Very friendly place.
There is a signpost to point you in the right direction.
We will definitely be giving Flamingoes a go next week, I'll let you know how we get on
I cant think where that is. Is it to your left or right when looking at the Haathi
If you are walking from the Haathi towards Luisa (I know you'll be walking the other way)....then you would take your second on the left after Goldeneye and just before the shops start and follow the lane down to the river.
Thanks Jock yes I do know where now
P.S. spoke to vinney the other day he is definately working in the restaurant in the mobor this season he did fish chips and mushy peas last friday ( one of his popular meals from vinneys ) and served 60 portions so he was pleased with that anita woody
Ive never been down there as I didn't think there was anything there Also possibly because I usually put my head down and carry on walking past the 'Come look my shop, cheap as Tescos' crys.
we had "asda price" at anjuna market when we were there//
You can get to it from both lanes I've also been told there is a lovely looking new restaurant next to the Goan Village will be checking ot out next week
That one belongs to Fatima TJ, the lady that owns the house right next door to the Goan.
thanks ellibee and tightjock will look out for those restaurants and give them both a go anita woody
coconut grove or palms ? which used to be vinneys , in cavelossim has been taken over by dominic that has a shack on the beach one of his waiters and his english wife are running it this year apparantly not sure how good the food is yet will try to find out , anita woody
This was a restaurant we used to eat in for a treat, because it was a little more expensive than the others in the area and the food was delicious. You know what it is like, you have spent several days eating Indian food and you just want something western just for a change.
The poster who has recently ate there said they paid 6100 rupees (about £84) for a three course meal with wine for two! Originally I thought they must have made a typing mistake, but they hadn't.
The restaurant has been sold again for a German. He is either greedy or daft or both to charge that amount for a meal when people can easily go down the road and eat for £8.
We are hoping to return to Goa in Feb or March next year, but if we do, we certainly won't be going in there for a meal. I mean £84 for a steak with a bit of sauce and posh mash - the owner is having a laugh at us!!!
Blimey Sydney, 84 quid! Well he wont be in business for long at those prices, who is going to pay that?
