The only clothing I have bought in Goa was a pair of shorts, nothing else I have seen would ever fit me.
I am size 8/10 and I have to buy XLARGE before anything fits me, unless its made of course.
that could have been my first mistake...as, despite the bikini diet a size zero I am not...
thanks for the advice, I'm scouring the shops now lol but it's thin pickings this close to christmas
I have to disagree as i think the clothes are gorgeous! I'm a size 8 and love the recycled sari silk backless tops, maxi dresses and hareem pants available out there but I'm a vintage fashion fanatic and do have an outrageous dress sense!!
grannypat... I saw the smiley face moon and stars on our way to soumiens kitchen (former chef at after7) we had a lovely meal there, as for clothes I bought two lovely tibetan jackets for £6 each picked up tops for next to nothing (indian xl) and had trousers made for £15 a pair, what a place ...I need to go back again .... soon!
I take a travel plug for the sink as they never have sink plugs - always wondered why that is, does anyone know?
I have never been anywhere thats has a plug, even the post hotels dont have them.
If you cannot get a plug...just use a small plastic bag instead. Dead easy and very portable!
Its very strange though - still can't fathom why they don't have sink plugs OR bath plugs (not much point to having the bath in the first place PJ :D) - another case of Indian logic I guess
Or a ping pong ball - heard it somewhere and it apparently works.
Would that not just float?
Maybe its something to do with physics?
Just testing your observation, you get a prize for spotting the deliberate mistake
hey! is'nt it somehow connected with taps you are used to ... when i visited UK i saw that you have two different taps - one for the warm and one for the cold water. it was a surprise to me and i was little confused how to use it. then i figured it out - in this case you need a plug to regulate the warmth of your water in the sink. i have sink plug but i rarely use it as long as we are used to wash the hands/face aso. with running water - one tap cold/warm
Always take travel kettle and coffee sachets with long life milk or frozen skimmed milk and a mug. Also take shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/sun tan lotion etc etc. They weigh a lot on the way out but as they are used (or remainders left behind) the weight can be used for bringing stuff back!!!
I've got a universal plug from M***********s supermarket which works in any sink or bath by suction method costs less than £1.50 - well worth itand have used it in several countries.
Morrisons??
I don't bother taking milk products out as I buy fresh milk in Goa!!!!
Fiona, your powers of deduction are second to none!!! Not quite sure who or what you can advertise on the forum??
Supermarket names are fine
I have taken a packet of cheese slices in the past, to have on toast at breakfast. My O/H will sometimes take the little marmalade sachets to have at breakfast because they dont weigh much and she does'nt trust the illuminous glow in the dark ones they have there....and we will buy a couple of mugs when we get there for a decent cup of coffee (instead of those tiny cups at the hotel).......Keith
