Terra Santa may well be 30 mins away but there is no better place for your catholic wedding, the church is huge with so much history well worth the distance

I am so glad I have found this forum before my wedding.

I have booked with a Thomson wedding package, staying at the Atlantica Bay and getting maried at the town hall -Limasol April 09. I have been wondering when somebody is going to contact me regarding the reception and exras but now know why.

In the extras brochure it is £98 just to have your hair put up, which I thought was steep. There is a hairdressers etc at the hotel so I think I will now use that, unless anybody knows of a good hairdresser in Limasol.

I need to transport 18 guests to the town hall and then to the reception. Do anybody know how I can book a mini bus for this (for less than the £131 that Thomson want to charge me) please?

Also I would like to book a beachside or seaview restaurant and Cypriot band/dancers, again without using the Thomson wedding planner.

Thanks

I am getting married at Paralimni town hall in May, with a Thomas Cook package. Last year, we went on a shoreline cruise to Famagusta. On passing Pernera, I saw a little blue and white church on the beach and have this place in mind for my photo's. Does anyone know what it is called so I can let the photographer know please. Or if anyone else has better ideas for a beach setting close by, I'd be really grateful, don't really want them taken at the town hall. Thanks in anticipation.

Also, if anyone has the e-mail address for the Thomas Cook wedding planner in protaras, i really would appreciate it, having no luck with TC this side at the moment. :que

Hi CazzMicknTom

I think the church you are referring to is close to the Grecian Park Hotel, sorry don't know the name of it but as you rightly said it is a beautiful sight

The Terra santa Catholic church looks beautiful, there was another closer aeneas but would prefer to travel the little bit further.
I have emailed the priest there, and we have some paper work to do this end first.
I shall be sorting alot out myself, eg, cake, flowers, transport, hair, reception etc
I am in the process of finding decent accomodation in protaras fairly priced. Unable to book until may time for august 2010.

If you put "photographer" into the Search box at the bottom left of the screen you may get some results in this topic. I would suggest you also read the previous topic which is linked to in the first post on Page 1 and do the same there as there may be some suggestions.

Hi Utsuri,
Have just seen your post looking for a photographer in the Paphos area.
My H2b and I are getting married at the Aliathon in July this year and through using this site, with talking to other girls & from their recomendation, we have found a really good photographer. Check out photokyriacos. To give you a rough idea, we have booked for 40 pics (15 x 21cm) for €350. I think 1st choice were looking for about double that price and i thought it was a bit of a rip off. We have also arranged for some sunset pics, which are about an extra €70-80. He was very quick to get back to me with price list and booking form when i sent him an email. On his site, you can look through a gallery of his work so that will give you some idea of what to expect.
Hope this helps. Good luck for June and hope you all have a great time.

Hello to all brides to be!!!

Does anyone have any information (good and bad) on the Golden Coast Hotel? I am in the process of booking my wedding there for September 2010 and would appreciate any info on this hotel. I have read great reviews on the hotel and weddings that have taken place there. I am using First Choice for the whole thing as I have attended weddings abroad that they have orgainsed, and they have done everything perfectly. I want the whole experience to be as stress free as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from you all,

Lynz

You will have NO problems with the Golden Coast really nice Hotel on the Beach, Lovely little chapel within the grounds where you can have the ceremony (depending on No of Guests) A Nice little lass called Mistrey got married there last Oct & she praised it as well. Maria the Hotel wedding planner is always on hand during the ceremony & she is worth her weight in Gold

Strongly reccommended

After having spent over an hour on the phone to Thomas Cook last year, arranging an extra case to take for my wedding dress, I went to Dawson and Sands yesterday to pay the final bill for the holiday. I asked the girl to make sure there was a mention on my booking for the extra case and guess what.......... :banghead: :banghead: no there bliddy well wasn't.
So I'm going to have to ring them up again tomorrow just to make sure. I aske dthe girl at D&S to do it for me. She rang me last night to say she was unnsuccesful but will keep trying. :que
Has anyone else had this problem with Thomas Cook and do you need written confirmation? I'd hate to turn up at the airport with an extra case to be told it wasn't allowed, it won't fit in my regular case along with my clothes. :cry

Well I got it sorted, kinda :que
Yes I have an extra 20kgs luggage, all brides to be automatically have this apparently. Now when I contacted TC, they saod i could only carry my dress and hubby2be's outfit. Dawsons are saying I can also carry my bridesmaid dresses. I spent the best part of 6 hours trying to contact TCook again but havn't been able to get through to confirm this.

Any travel agents or anyone who works for TC out there to help me please.

Hey there!
I got married in Limassol in June 08 and stayed in the Atlantica Hotel not the Atlantica Bay. The haridresser from the Atlantica Bay Elis i think her name was - is fantastic! she prepared my hair and my bridesmaid and we have very thick hard to manage hair! I priced all the hairdressers and wasn't happy with any of the prices but she was great! With regard to Transport on the bus, if you get someone from Atlantica Bay to contact Atlantica Hotel they have their own minibus which we used for our guests and the drivers were lovely - i even booked my cars with them as taxis rather than hiring cars!

REstuarant - there is a lovely place based on the main strip - facing McDonalds but up a bit towards old town (but defo not nearly as far jsut to give you an idea of the direction)- there is a bus stop outside it. Not the cheapest and not mega expensive - lovely food and staff are friendly. You have a view of the sea and all their food is cooked to order so guaranteed a lovely meal!

Let me know if this info helps, to be honest if you contact your events manager in the Atlantica Bay they will be able to assist you - if not ask for Ioanna in the Atlantica Hotel she was amazing - couldn't even put it into words how fantastic she was!

When is your big day???

Hi girls,

My partner and I have decided to book a wedding for August next year (2010) to Limassol. Would prefer to get married in a church then have a reception at hotel with family and friends of about 20. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is near to Limassol centre. Found some really nice hotels, but when you look how far they are from Limossol main part its miles away. The Four Seasons Hotel is fantastic, but according to brochure its 10km (6.5 miles) away! So after something just as nice but way way closer, if anyone can make a recommendation.

Also, what churches (preferrable catholic) are near or in Limassol?

Thanking you all in advance
