It's so long ago I stayed there (20 years ago or more), that I wouldn't know what it's like now. Therefore wouldn't want to mislead lots of people by writing an out-of-date-report for the main site.
When I stayed there however, Tropicano "A" was not to be mixed up with another place named Tropicano also which was unassociated but very near by (don't know if upstairs or next door). Tropicano "A" was a small number of ground floor rooms wrapping around a lovely little garden. This looks like it

Quite basic rooms with own bathroom, but comfortable and clean with a small terrace where a good breakfast was served. The owner, Flossie, was extremely hospitable and helpful - nothing too much trouble. The rooms were a short walk across dunes to the beach, and also a short walk up to the main taxi area and Teama. Very nearby (next door/but one) was the this place

Still not sure if I'm on the right track (!) as it isn't a hotel, more rooms to let/a guesthouse - but it was, at the time, a nice hospitable place to stay (but take some Jungle Formula as there's quite a bit of vegetation).
