It is a bit of a walk!!! Especially back, as it is all uphill - still taxis are cheap! I haven't been in the complex for years, so no idea what it's like now. At one stage we were looking to buy one of the studios there for our daughter, and I do remember that there was not much privacy on the balcony as people walk past to get to their own accommodation. The nearest supermarket and bars are in Montaña Tropical, which is close, but then its a steep walk down to the harbour, and then another long walk to get to the strip.
I will never return to Las Terrazas ever.
We stayed from 15th aug - 25aug. There was a mix up at the start, we arrived at 10pm and were greeted with the news that our rooms (3) had been cancelled. neither ours or the hotels fault, but some incopotent at "lowcost beds". we spent most of our first 3 days foning home to try and sort the problem out. Mario the manager/owner was a complete gent, he done anything he could for us. the rooms are very basic, no aircon, but you get what you pay for. the walk down and up from the old town is quite a hike.
I will agree with you SERGIO81 that Mario was truely a gentleman and yes you do get what you pay for but we did not pay for the ants.Take a look at La Penita in PDC and compare. You can get a week in La Penita at the end of September this year for less than Las Terrazas, now tell me Las Terrazas is such a bargin. Cheers.
Sorry to hear about your problems but glad that you enjoyed your holiday after being moved to La Penita. I have booked La Penita next March and would be grateful if you could give me the low down.
Cheers
Des.
I am more than happy to give you the low down on La Penita.Let me first start by saying my girlfriend and I have been to Lanzarote many times and mostly to Puerto Del Carmen. We have stayed in a number of apartment complexes and La Penita are by far the best.If you have been to Puerto Del Carmen before you will know it is very hilly, not La Penita. It is on the flat and depending what apartment you get ( we were allocated number 182 ) you are no more than a couple of minutes from the main road. The apartments are massive with all mod cons. The staff are very friendly and the apartments are kept clean. We never used the pool or bar facilities but they looked ok to us.I hope you enjoy your stay at La Penita as much as we did.We are going back there in November. If you would like a run down on some bars etc to visit then let me know. Cheers.
I appreciate you taking time to give me your thoughts on La Penita. It sounds ideal. I have been to PDC before but would like to hear if you had any favourite bars and/or eateries in the vicinity of the complex.
We have a number of bars and eateries we like to visit and most of the bars we like are Irish and also do good food. The Dubliner is great for music and good fun after 10pm.Behind La Penita is an Indian Restaurant, the best on the island. The Spinnaker is good for food and entertainment as is The Drop Inn.The Sports Bar is good for people watching. If you like Mexican food get in a taxi and go to Emmas Cantina in Calle Teide. Enjoy your stay.Let me know how your holiday goes. Cheers.
