We are going here on Thursday and I have read the reviews. I keep telling myself they are mixed but can only see the bad ones.
Has anyone stayed in a good apartment here that remember what block or floor?
I want to look forward to my holiday with joy not dread!
i'll be interested to hear how you get on,i fancy going to puerto tahiche, ive had a walk round the complex and it looked ok,its in a good position in the town and close to the beach, although some of the comments are off putting
If anyone has stayed at these apartments they can post a review here:
When we did hire a car we went around the island, but one place I never see mentioned and was lovely (if you like castles I suppose), it was called the Castle of Santa Barbara and is perched on a hill above Teguise town.

we stayed 2nd floor block F (I think) very good corner room with 2 large balconies 1 overlooking the beach and 1 over the pool!
First time it was really good, very clean etc, but second time we went back it had gone down hill dramatically, looked tired and in need of some seriuos money spent on it.
I believe it has had a major refurbishment.
Other major complaint was the banging of doors at all hours, never experienced anything like it in my life.
One thing I can't argue with is its location
My friend has got a good deal for these apartments. The reviews are very mixed. Anyone just back and have any opinions?? before she books!!
Thanks

We went to these apartments a few years ago. We really hated them but I'm sure they've been refurbished since( it was about to start as we were coming home). The location couldn't be better as they are right on the beach which was just as well as the sunbed situation was a complete joke and we never had one in the 2 weeks we were there. Some of the apartments were really lovely but we had a grotty studio. We found the complex really noisy and you could hear the conversations in the room next door. That said my friend went and really loved it so it's just a matter of opinion. We'd never go back though, we were so glad to go home. Sorry to sound so negative
No worries about being negative - everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think they were refurbished earlier this year as thats when the reviews start to become more favourable on the hotels reviews.
if anyone has any views please let me know.
thanks

me wife and daughter are going to puerto tahiche in may,bit worried due to reviews we have seen. do we need to be?
We have holidayed there twice as a family in 2001 & 2002.
The second time we were there the complex was very tired looking, but I believe it may have had a refurbishment since then.
I've read lots of reports about cockroaches in apartments, but can only say from personal experience that we never had a problem, but on both occassions we requested a top floor apartment.
One major criticism I would level however is the doors of the apartments, when closing they must be the nosiest doors ever, and folk "bang" them all night long.
Couple of bits of cotton wool in your ears and you'll be fine though.
Enjoy your break.
We went there in October 2003 and had a wonderful time. The rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard. I don't know how old your daughter is, but the evening entertainment for children was great. The pools were kept clean but were quite cold. It could be noisy at times, but no more so than the average holiday hotel.
My friend is just back, with her mum & daughter. They all loved them and hadn't a bad word to say. I will try and see her over the weekend and let you know if there are any negatives!!
they are in a great location , the pool are is nice and i never found any problems there. you should have a great time
Be aware that there are no lifts and if you're unfortunate enough to find yourself on the 3rd floor you will be expected to carry your cases to the top. Not a problem for those who are young and fit but my travelling companion and I are "mature" in years and we found this unacceptable. Of course if you shout long and loudly, the reception staff or Rep will arrange for someone to carry for you but by the time help arrives you will have lost the will to live and given yourself a double hernia dragging them up the stairs yourself!
If you like loud music (children's entertainment just above reception each evening 7 - 9pm), peeling paint and aren't particularly bothered by an air of general indifference then this may be the place for you.
I must stress that, at the time of booking, our travel agent led us to believe that we would be in a half board hotel room within the complex but when we got there we discovered that we'd been misinformed and we found ourselves in a self catering studio apartment so maybe this is why I feel somewhat aggrieved! Perhaps the one bedroom apartments are more comfortable but the studios are certainly very cramped with nowhere to put large suitcases. It was also the first time I've ever had to feed a slot meter to get the TV to work (3 euros per day) but maybe this is standard practice in this type of accommodation.
On a more positive note, it certainly seems to be popular with young families, the food is good and the sea views and location couldn't be better. However, if you're looking for peace and comfort then you should give this place a wide berth.
I come back from these aparments 3months ago! Lovely apartments pretty spacious even though there was 5 of us sharing and only 2 bedrooms! Had to be up crack of dawn to get a sunbed ridiculous it was! Had basic essentials in the room! Cockroaches were a pain in the butt comin home early hours of the mornin Lovely apartments friendly feeling etc and mainly for families! Would definitely reccomend these apartments!
but on the plus side great location for beach
lots of great places to eat at, try la province fantastic meals your must try the chicken fajitias excellent.
I thought these apartments where brill. Yes the sunbed situation was mad but there is a gorgeous beach right next to the hotel. Cockroaches are popular in Lanzorote wherever you go so don't let that put you off. Costa Teguise is great for a nice relaxing holiday. I recommend the tour of the volcanoes forgotten the name of it. Have a great time
we are staying in these apts in december can anyone tell me if you still get a kitchenette with fridge if you are half board and what the gym is like there, also what watersports are on the beach the family are hoping they have a banana boat and similar sports and if anyone can recommend any excursions. thanks holqueen1
