For the money, EZY are a good no frills airline. You get on, enjoy the ride then get off again! It doesn't really matter where you are flying to, you know what to expect with EZY. You always get the scrum at the gate as everyone rushes to get on, that's one of the negatives. You can book speedy boarding to minimise the crush, but it doesn't always work!

That's what I am worried bout, I don't want my little ones pushed over in the fight to get on the plane 
. Is it really that bad?? I wuld rather pay a bit more and not have to worry about it if it's really bad.

It depends where you are flying from, but it can be bedlam at times as everyone squashes to get through the gate in the rush for a window seat! It's not always like that and not exclusive to EZY, but it does happen.

I booked flights to Sharm el sheikh last July for husband and myself, including speedy boarding. We are unable to use the flights now as My husband cant take the time off. (you gotta love this credit crunch). I know I cant get a refund on the flights, what about the taxes? any pointers to an answer will be gratefully received.

Darren, we would be flying from Gatwick in August. I think I may book with a different airline, I wouldn't mind if it was just me and my husband but with children I would hate for it to end up in tears before we even got on the plane.
Kedi - I've never flown to Corfu, but have flown many times with Easyjet without any problems. I do think it depends on which airport you fly from. The usual procedure is people with children first, then those with boarding cards A, B C etc next. What we've found is that sometimes, those with children are sitting on the bus that takes you to the plane, waiting for others. This means that your prioriiy boarding doesn't really count. I must stress however that we have had no problems from Bristol Or Luton airport.

1st time with Easyjet. Got my confirmation printout. Booked one hold bag. Do we check-in as normal at airport? or do I print-out broading passes?. Also flying from Manchester what are they like managing the rush to get onto the plane. Not sure to book priority broading?

If you are checking-in a bag, you can't use online check-in so you'll have to go to the check-in desk in the usual way. I've never noticed too much of a scrum at Manchester (T3).

I must point out Manchester are quite strict with the boarding. The women told everyone to be seated, once they were seated she would start boarding. Which is good.

Well I have just booked flights to Bodrum with Easy Jet. Does anyone have experience of travelling with young children? Do they allow passengers on first like other airlines or do you have to bundle on with everyone else?
I'm sure we will manage somehow, I mean they aren't going to the little ones sit on their own, but I would rather we could sit together somewhere on the plane.

Thanks, we have speedy booking so hopefully we should be ok then.
Gower is exactly right, but and it is a very big but, make sure you are at the gate very quickly after the first (usually silent) call otherwise you can easily miss the priority boarding. It's even worth trying to work out where your plane is before the call and getting to the gate before the scrum.

In my experience if you're travelling with young children you don't need speedy boarding as you're priority anyway.
Yes people did try to push in etc but the staff told them to stand back and let the people with children through first and we had no problems at all.

Must say I like it at Malaga - when I use EZY out of that airport I think the staff are great...at least in my experience - saying things like...."dont you understand English" - "is my english better than yours even though I am Spanish" - we said "stay seated until you are called forward".

It is a pity that things are not better organised at Stansted - boarding is a nightmare there.

I could be eating my words now as I have noticed that the childrens priority boarding is now only up to age five.
I travelled a couple of years ago and could have sworn that the cut off then was age eight for children as I commented about having a few years without worrying about boarding the children.
Looked at speedy boarding and am not going to waste £52 when the priority is never a guarantee so will have to scrum it with the rest

That's what we did in December flying to Alicante. It was around 6am, there were mostly flybe planes parked up and 2 easyjet planes, so I put my money on the one with the lights on as the other was in darkness and I just waited at the gate, when our group which was A we went straight on and we got front seats which are legroom seats.
