Drinks are spiked everywhere you go but Marmaris is a big place and after reading that it put me off for a few minutes (as a mum!)
If you'd carried on reading my other post i'm now looking at Nature hotel anyway. I must say i've not heard of anyone getting spiked in Bitez either it tends to attract nice people like me (jokes!)

The Le toile and the Aqua hotels are right on the beach and 5 star.Both do AIs but they are expensive hotels.There is also the Marti and Marti la Perla on the front that are 5star but I think one of these is HB.
When we stayed at the Devamli hotel a couple of years ago there were a group of young girls from Liverpool staying there.It is a lovely family hotel and you can go B&B or HB.The meals are taken in the Loveboat the restaurant on the ground floor which is arguabley the best restaurant in Icmeler.The waiters wear sailors uniform and the service is excellent.
I really think it is a shame to go AI to Icmeler as there is a vast amount of excellent restaurants and bars at reasonable prices.
There are also 3 Litera hotels that do AI at cheaper prices but a lot of folk end up eating out as the reviews are not good apart from the very beginning of the season.
The beach is shingly but wide with shallow water.The sunbeds are avilable for only £1 each per day.Just behind the beach are lovely Cafes for lunches at very good prices.Look on the Monies thread to see what we paid last October for food and drinks.
Once you have found a hotel you fancy look at the reviews on here and Trip advisor before booking.

Im just saying don't be so naive to think people don't get spiked in 'nice' places and just because you havent heard about it doesnt mean it doesnt happen. The nice places is usually where
people are most spiked as girls have their guard down. I could understand your fears if your daughter was young but at 19 I really think you need to stop getting yourself worried

I don't know about Icmeler for safety as a child was shot in the head there and I would say thats worse than Marmaris and getting your drink spiked

If you drink Efes ,just drink it out of the bottle!
I only go out of peak season but read all the forums and I have never heard of anyone getting shot.
I am sure it would have been mentioned on Icmeler on Line as the owners are residents.

The little boy that was shot, was shot in Foca north of Izmir, no where near Icmeler !

I travel each year to Icmeler and spend time alone over there also, I feel safe over there, and have never had a problem with trouble, or violence and never had my drinks spiked, although I have in the UK.

As long as they air on the side of caution, I am sure they will be fine.

oh please!!!!!!!!I won't be getting involved with the spiking row etc, I'm really only interested in finding a nice holiday
anyway I really like the look of The aqua and it has brilliant reviews wherever you look. Just trying for the best price at the moment. They hope to book over the weekend so i'll keep you posted and thanks so much for the helpful advice most of you have given, much appreciated

Do you mean The Aqua in Icmeler? It's lovely, great location as well, have you looked at The Blue Rainbow ? Thats all inclusive and near The Aqua and right on the beach but slightly cheaper?

Icmeler is a lovely resort.If i was going all inc I would pick Blue Rainbow.Ive been doing a lot of researching for a few months now,do I go all inc or s/c,anyway Ive chosen s/c as usual because all the restaurants serve great food and a lot have great entertainment,the people are lovely,my biggest dilema now is where do we eat of an evening,14 days is not enough.Dolmus is about 2TL to Marmaris,or you can take a taxiboat in the day for 7.5 TL same price to Turanc.The owners of the bars and restaurants will also arrange transport to take you back to your accomodation of an evening,we stayed in Marmaris last year and visited Venice a couple of evenings,and the owner got his driver to take 8 of us home.

Hi everyone, I would advise you to take Kedi's advice about NOT going AI in Turkey, we went AI in Gumbet last year and it was a disaster. We stayed at the Litera La Luna.
Theres plenty of very lively places for nightlife and some great places to eat. I put questions on here, and Kedi ( thanks ) replied at the time. But I went along with my friends choice of AI. . Gumbet is good for nightlife and has the advantage of being central for days out to some lovely local beaches and also to the town of Bodrum.

as a mother with to daughters 18 and 20 i would recommend an all inclusive for them. no the food may be bland etc, but when they run out of money 3 days before the end of the holiday especially on a fortnights holiday you know they will still be fed and watered. good all inclusives are expensive (all inclusive is not my taste). I would also say that there are dangers for all in both turkey and britain when out drinking as young girls together. I would say somewhere like Club Nergis in Marmaris -some cheap deals going with TC and Direct Holidays and it is directly on the beach within the busy area -close to bars and eating places.

THey seem to be quite happy with the Icmeler idea it sounds perfect really and as you say the all inc is great just knowing they won't starve foe the last 3 days!.They are sensible anyway and aren't babies by any means they share their own house together so are used to fending for themselves. They like the idea of being able to eat and drink first and go out later and go to bars without having to spend a fortune. Just which hotel and company to book with. (p.s I've only been left as the travel agent as they don't have much time, too busy clubbing and partying lol!)

my daughter and her friends stayed in icmeler all were 17 a few years ago , like you we booked all inc incase they ran out of money, they were fine, but i do have my mother living there if a problem had arisen. so im sure this resort will suit them fine , just read reviews and look on hotel only booking sites to get a good deal and compare with package prices, or go through cashback sites too

We have been doing A/I for years and there is poor ones but the ones we found in Marmaris i.e Green Nature and Gran Pasa are good thats is why we return year after year.

But every one is different spme like S/C others dont

Its like the reviews people write different reviews same hotel same week

But im sure you will get something sorted for them the reason i stated the Green Nature in a earlier post was it is 24 hr A/I

My children are adults now but love the green nature my eldest takes his kiddies there now knowing the food is good

My youngest daughter now 19 is going this year with friends for 2 weeks

Some off the replys on this topic i.e spiked drinks etc ive not heard off it and we go to Marmaris 2-3 times a year and we know a lot off people
