hvasey,
I don't have any personally and I've checked the aviation photo databases, and there's nothing their either. I doubt if staff know the exact aircraft that is assigned to the flight. They'll just have the relevant seat plan on the check-in system.
Darren
Are you only able to select a seat once you check in online?
xxdaniellexx,
Anything more on the post you made in November about the rumoured 3rd flight from MAN-MCO?
We are on VS075 so likely to be the LGW/MAN config 744 anyway but would be nice to have a V-Port on one of the 343's.
Cheers
Rob
VS075/6 are always a 744. At present, I'm still only seeing VS073/4 and VS075/6 (both 744's), no third flight. Maybe they decided to pull it in the end because of the current climate? I definately saw they were planning to increase capacity from June - October 2009 with an additional Saturday flight to MCO, operated by an A343.

I don't know if you can help on this one but I am willing to try anything !
I am flying out to Montego Bay with Virgin on the 22nd December 2009 and my sister in law is flying out a week later on the 29th December.
My issue is that I have been trying to pre book my seats, I have tried going through the 'manage my booking' on both virgin holidays website and virgin atlantic website. Neither is working for me, I have also spoken to people on the phone at both companies and they just keep telling me that my flight locator number has not been released yet. This would all be understandable if my sister in law had not been able to book her seats on both her flights, both leaving after mine. When I inform Virgin of this they cannot give me an explanation and just keep telling me my flight locator numbers have not been released yet. My flight details are as follows
Dep LGW 1145, Arr MBJ 1645, Boeing 747-400, Flight No: VS065
Dep KIN 1930, Arr LGW 0910 +1, Boeing 747-400, Flight No: VS070.
I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall all the time with both Virgin Holidays and Virgin Atlantic. Do you have any answers or any advice ?
Thank you
Ellen
Hi I had the same problem, are you going on a Virgin Holiday if so are you putting the booking reference in correctly, this was my problem.
Hi, I have put the reference number in correctly on both sites, it's the one ending in S09 but it just keeps saying there is an error please try later. This was also happening to my sister in law and when she rang up they booked them for her over the phone yet they are still saying mine hasn't been released yet. I am one of those peole who likes to arrange everything way in advance and this is driving me crazy !
With regards to booking seats on the Virgin Atlantic site, it always reports Virgin Holidays bookings as they couldnt find it then you add the flight number and flight date which always returns our flight details.
Tried that too but no joy
I can't really help you there I'm afraid. I know several members have had the same problems as you have. If you don't have the flight locator number, you won't have access to the online system as you already know. You'll just have to wait until you can get the number. I wouldn't stress too much, you've plenty of time yet!
Darren
Think you can only book seats 180 days in advance
See my post to xxdaniellexx above with link to VS's seat selection FAQ's. It's available online via 'manage your flights' from when you've booked your flight.
Darren
One last thing (hopefully) can you only prebook your seat once the full payment is made or can you do it anytime e.g. straight after booking?
You need the LOCATOR number (airline booking reference) which is normally made up of a selection of 6 letters and numbers (e.g. A1BH4Q). The number reference that ends ....../S09 is the tour operators ref number.
Dazbo5,
The extra leg room seats on the LGW 747's at the rear are rows 61-64 & will cost you £30 each at check-in for these & are the same as normal economy seats apart from a couple of extra inches seat pitch.
The window seat is missing, so you have a bit more room to put your legs to the side, but aren't able to lean against the window (in case you want to fall asleep). Emergency exit seats cost £50 each.
I think charging for these seats at the rear is just another money making scheme for them, considering they never used to, but the upside to that is at least you should get your first meal choice
Gower,
Thank you everyone for your replies. I guess this time I will just have to be patient, even though it is killing me !
You sould have access to the online system once your flights are confirmed. Give it a go?
Darren
