Just went online to see them and they are quoting 42.50 euros for the 2 of us of return....that's what it costs us 1 way by taxi!!!!!!!

Think I will go with them then.....how soon do you need to book and do you pay up front or wait till you are there?

Seeing as Vau doesnt have much in the way of shops will we need to go to PDR or Alvor to buy all the kids essentials like buckets and spades, footballs, beach mats etc?
Purchased some Piri Piri (if it tastes as good as it smells we are in for a treat tonight)sauce this morning, chicken is now marinating nicely in the fridge.Thought I'd get in the Portuguese mood!Only thing lacking is the Super Bock or Sagres, local Tescos doesnt stock it any more.

Alan, try Asda if there is one near you. They sell super bock in our local one.

Yes ,there are really no shops that sell those, perhaps the odd thing but you will be better off going into Alvor or Rocha for them, probably will be cheaper.Hope you enjoyed the Piri Piri. :cheers

Praia do Vau is a great spot. There are many beaches around and Praia da Rocha is very very near.

Alan my family of four stayed at Terracos last year and had a great time. Vau has a great beach and is only a five minute walk from the appts. At the bottom of the drive from Terracos there is a mini-mercado across the road to the left and across the road to the right is a super-mercado. Both shops are fairly small (the super mercado is about the size of a spar) but they have beach balls, bucket and spades, mats and parasols. Vau is quiet with only four restaurants and no pubs but it is really nice - Rocha is good for a night out with loads of pubs and restaurants. We really liked Vau last year, great location between Alvor and Rocha - its Alvor this for us this year!

Anyone in that area, Zoo Marine is well worth a visit. But take a pack lunch the restaurant (which is in a marquee type thing) was full of flies when we went there!
