hi although we had a great night night at the carvery it really was the only bad meal we had ,when we went to the second meet we made sure we ate elsewhere first
Went to Rising Waves in Candolim last Saturday! Excellent!
Went to Rising Waves two or three times while I was out, must say it's excellent! Sam looks after you really well.
Looking for a restaurant with some entertainment in Candolim/Calangute for end of March. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Try Over the Flames the entertainment on a Wednesday night was brilliant last December, the food is good too.
Has anybody tried Restaurant 42? Have heard some good reports, only one bad one, apparently the guy had bones in his pork chops and it said in the menu that they were boneless. The menu is all european.
Just read in the S#n that Rangers are to make 8 first team players redundant by the end of the season. sorry for ot.
Bobbsy read that today as well, but I am a happy person today When you at the MD again? Maybe catch up with you.
Gemma, if you are at the MD again. There is a new hotel next to Leila's called Mykonos bay! The restaurant is called the Lazy Grill! Watched it being built last year and thought it was a church! Anyway, if you like Andre, the indian Neil Diamond he is there Friday nights, and he will make you very welcome. Ask him if you can see the rooms!! ! Bit pricey, but VERY NICE!!
Thanks Goangirl, thats brilliant
Thanks Gemma, just a broken tooth, which will be sorted on Thursday. Just annoyed that if it had happened 2 days before, i could have got it sorted in Goa. Have a good holiday. The MD is still the best, even though we didn't stay there this time, i did go and visit to say hello and came out with a lump in my throat. Do try Rising Waves, and try to go to 1 of the meets! Fabulous crowd! Mad! But fabulous! you will have a good night!
We were at the meets in Nov/Dec and had a brilliant time. Cant wait to see everyone again
Where is Rising Waves, please?
Rising Waves is just behind/side of the Snow White Laundry close to calangute football pitch.I have the address as Tinto Candolim,Bardez.Goa.
Thanks Sleep
You must give it a try the food was really good but i found there was'nt too much choice BUT on saying that it was last march 08 since we paid a visit so things could have changed..Samir who owns the place was the head Waiter at the The Bistro(sunset beach) he's lovely i sure he'll certainly make you welcome.

Your right sleeps, the menue has changed since last March, and would say its more than doubled in size with lots of specials added
also.In my view one of the best restraunts in north Goa,Sam does a excellent job in running the place for Tony, from Sunset beach
and Pretty petals
Four of us had meals (all different) at Fire & Ice on the CSM road and I would have recommended it as a good place to go, but we went back a week later and it was awful (again all different meals) so I am a bit cautious about putting forward new places to eat. There are some places that are consistantly good but these seem to be the well established places (Souymens,All Spice, Over the Flames and others to many to mention) There is a new place about a 150 yards from the MD called Nicks Place which we had a meal at on our first day (as we wanted to stay near to the MD after the long flight) and it was a nice place. You could eat in downstairs or on the rooftop terrace, the menu was'nt spectacular but there was a decent choice the food was good, and the place was spotlessly clean. They also had an early bird menu (5pm-7.30pm) were you could get a starter & main meal for 175 rps and 3 Kingfisher for 90 rps and 1/2 price cocktails. We ate there twice and both times could'nt fault the food, we also took advantage of the cheap drinks & cocktails a few times as it was nice to have a drink on the rooftop terrace on a fairly quiet rd before heading out for a meal,a few of our friends at the MD went there for breakfast a few times and said it was a nice English breakfast. I think its owned by 2 Goans & an English guy and maybe that had something to do with the idea of the early bird menu as its not something I've seen a lot of in Goa, if your staying at the MD it may be worth a try..Keith
