Gemma we also think the same

It seems that the owners, Serge, Morgan & Florence have decided that they can make enough money at La Plage, by opening in the evening for dinner.
I think Morgan just wants to spend more time kite-boarding at Ahsvem beach.
One thing for sure is, that with Serge & Morgan being there every day, the service has improved and they will obviously be keeping a close eye on the quality.
La Plage has always been one of our favourites - just means we have to run up to Ahsvem more often.
We tried Souymans Kitchen for the first time - not impressed, we prefer After Seven.
We also went back to I-95 and honestly we were disappointed - the menu seems a bit too pretentious, and the service was a bit too fussy and overbearing.
The food was good though.
Reluctantly I was dragged along to Tony's Place by some friends for fish & chips and I enjoyed it. I think I was just in the mood for something plain and simple and the battered fish just hit the spot.
My short list of favourites :-
Breakfasts:- French Bakery, Baba au Rum in Arpora.
Lunches:- Lila Café, Baga River. Villa Blanche, Asagao. La Plage, Ahsvem.
Afternoon tea & cakes:- Café Chocolatti, Candolim.
Dinner:- Bomras (Burmese) Candolim. Casa Manolita, Candolim. Kebabs & Curries, Calangute.
Finally just because it's so unique and such an interesting building:- Ku, Morjim.
Hi Max
Can you tell me where this is please?
Go through Arpora towards Ingo's and after 200/300 metres there is an apartment block on the right side.
The sign for Baba au Rhum is on the left at the junction opposite this block. Follow the windy road as it enters the little hamlet and the Bakery is facing you. They do take away french bread, croissantes, pain au raisin & pain au chocolat.
Sounds very nice, thanks for that Max
I agree the bar at Teama is very british, but we noticed quite a lot of domestic tourist going upstairs to the restaurant the last time we were there. A lot of long termers used to use the Teama because they used to get a discount on drinks, however they soon moved on when they stopped it, although we still see a few faces from the past.
Sounds very nice, thanks for that Max

If you stay in Arpora you should also try Villa Blanche for a lunch one day; makes a change from lying on a beach bed.
They do beautiful organic salads, lots of tasty fruit drinks but no alcohol.
Take the road from Arpora towards Siolim - you will cross three junctions.
At the third one just before the road climbs up the hill towards Siolim, turn right towards Asagao, it's the road that takes you to the Animal Rescue place.
About 1km along that road on the right you will find a house with a big parachute hanging over the garden - that's Villa Blanche.
Have known Ram for many years, but am totally disappointed with the food the last few weeks. The Carvery is cold, the service poor. Even the pies were hard. Hope they pull their sox up.
Thanks Max, thats brilliant. Will take all this information with me in just over 5 weeks time
Have known Ram for many years, but am totally disappointed with the food the last few weeks.
have you talked to Ram about it? perhaps you should as you know him so well, I'm sure he would appreciate any feedback... good or bad....you have been unfortunate as we find the food excellent and eat there regularly and unusually for me i had the carvery a few weeks ago and have had it a few times since as it was so good...
chilly
me and the wife went to a meet with johnnyg all three meals were not good one bit me and john had chicken rogon and got four pieces of chicken would not eat in there again
I read somewhere that Ram reads this forum. I hope he does, and if there is a problem sorts it out, because he will lose a lot of customers if not.
I tis situated near cafe coffee day on Baga road, coming from Calangute past cafe coffee day and turn first left and it is on your right oppsunshine resort, only a small place run by a couple called Mike and Jenny opens 9 till noon for breakfast and 6 until you want to leave at night/morning.
Excellent food 10 out of 10
Mike
The food before Christmas had been great but since then the quality and quantity has decreased. Hope Ram does read these mail, he's a nice guy and deserves better. Going less and less now.
Met Chilly briefly in the Carvery, sorry didn't have a proper chat but my friends Dave and Joan keep me up to date on all the gossip.
Restaurants we particularly liked were:-
Rising Waves - food good but Samir has to get his waiting staff sorted out, after starters no fresh cutlery brought, table left after meal finished we had to ask for it to be cleared (several times), twice the wrong main course was brought (Samir took the order!)
Fishermans Cove- the one near the football field. Had breakfast, lunch and dinner there on different occassions and always good with good friendly service.
Sheetal - The best Indian food anywhere, the spices are subtle and very tasty, staff are friendly and attentive
The Yorkshireman - I found the Fish n Chips here were better than anywhere else, even Tony's Place and The Carvery
Annapurna - Their onion bahjis are out of this world, food consistantly good, we always go there on our first night in Goa
These are only a few of the ones we tried.
We havn't been to Teamas for years, it always used to be good upstairs but the "Brits abroad" who sit outside from morning till night make it look a bit like Blackpool, Kiss me Quick hats and Candy Floss next year I should think! We have also heard that there are two lots of menus, red for the foreigners (us) blue for the Indians, needless to say the blue menu is half the price of the red.
Prices going up in general, hate being ripped off and it's happening more and more.
changed our shack this year from Bayview to Drop Inn next door, free sunbeds, good food and big portions, toilet may not be quite as 'posh' but it was a flush toilet and had a tap with running water to wash your hands, tiled floor too. we were very happy there and the bill was always right too!
Mike I must remember that place you said near Cafe Coffee Day. That also sounds good
Alan
anyone know where the Annapurna is please ? thankyou
