jenny have a look in the gallery at all the photos ive posted to give you an idea of akyaka. if you look at the last building on the left of my photo that is where the yucelen hotel is, so it gives you idea just how close to the beach and other bars it is
it looks wonderful. thank you for photos. i cant wait xx
Things havent changed it is still a beautifull resort.
One of The trips we did last year was to a little town on the Gokova Bay called Akyaka.
It was only an hour from Icmeler and on the way we stopped at a couple of rock tombs from days gone.
Arriving in Akyaka was as I imagined it, a beautifull little village with this magnificent backdrop of mountains.
Having an harbour area and the Azmac river running into the bay over which river is a rustic wooden bridge, this has got to be a photographers paradise.
Fish restaurents lined the pretty promenade and one step and you were on to the beach area, were sunbeds and brollies were in abundence.
2 beds and 1 brolly 4ytl.
The beach shelved gently into the sea and you could walk out 150mtrs before having to swim, this was great for Andre and he loved jumping and diving into the waves.
We left Akyaka at 3.30 arriving Icmeler 4.30,oh I wish we had that beach and sea at Icmeler.
Then they havent got any "3 Bells" "Lion Bar" "Majestic Boys" etc, or do they actualy desire them? I think not, this is a resort for those who like peace and tranquility and that is what reigns in this Turkish resort.

in the harbour there are quite a few little boat restaurants that do fish and kofte (meatballs) at amazingly cheap prices, although we havent tried them ourselves i have been highly recommended them by my mam who lives in turkey and several regular holiday makers we meet every year , theres plenty of boat trips and 1 day i will make it to see cleopatras islands as they look fab , theres also a huge outdoor cinema down by the harbour again we havent been, never seem to get time not sure why to all these things
Holimanic - Have you booked the Yucelen? Do you mind me asking who you have booked it through as that seems a good price to what I have found so far!
nicky i think they booked a package with TC online , if you go for a package go through 1 of the well known cashback sites, they are free to join
Karen, not too good at booking on line - can you recommend any sites for me?
Karen, just looked at some tripadvisor posts and it seems a lot "older" people seem to go there, we are aged between 35 and 40 - do you still think this hotel would be ok for us? Nicky
we are both in our 40's and love akyaka, not sure about age groups staying in the hotel, people around when we have visited vary in ages
Karen, ah that helps, my boryfriend is 40 and I am in my 30's so that has reassured me!
my hubby is also 40, my youngest daughter is 9 and she loves akyaka, last yr we went with some friends they were 38 and 43 and kids were 13,10, 9 and they all loved it so much they have been begging their parents to return this year, sadly she cant afford it this year
Thanks Karen - I can rest easy now!!! Nicky
So travelling on my own this year again and whilst I'm sure it would be just fine if I were to go there on my own I think it looks too nice to not have someone to share it with!
have a look at this link ive just found, check out the virtual tour

SandC - ah that's a shame, maybe you should go anyway! Nicky

thanks sandc, for that website. hotel looks brill xx
Nicky, if you bont like booking on line, give T.Cook a ring. Just quote the holiday ref. number.
Brilliant - maybe we will see each other there!!! Nicky
