Hi, just wanted to say thanks to Tina (Oscarben) :tup for suggesting ebay for my Piz Buin Allergy lotion. Have ordered some from a very helpful seller that hopefully is the old formula. After looking at the Piz Buin website it appears they have developed a new formula which contains something called Helioplex, and as I mentioned before it seems that some people have reacted to it. Have ordered 4 bottles for myself at £6.99 a bottle, not as cheap as last year's from Home Bargains, but still not bad. Will check it out when it arrives and if it is the right stuff will probably order a few more.

Glad I could help nicJW,I should think it has to be the old formula at that price cos it's really quite expensive at the moment,I've still got several unopened from last year,we went to Ibiza in May and it rained a lot ,went to Cornwall and it rained again, took a weekend to Thorpe Park and guess what,it rained again.I'd bought plenty as usual, especially as I paid as little as £3.00 cos the chemist decided it wasn't very popular so I have enough I think for all our hols this year.Tina.

Hi Again  Just a couple more questions. Oscarben - you mentioned you used Piz Buin radiant face, what's it like and how does it differ to normal lotion. I normally just use Piz Buin lotion on my face but find it's really greasy, would you recommend the radiant face one instead?

Also, have been looking at the Elemis tan accelerator and wondering whether I should treat myself to some this year. I normally tan quite easily although I'm prone to prickly heat, would this product be suitable do you think? Or does it tend to clog the pores?

Any advice greatly received. :tup

Hi nicJW

I quite liked the radiant face,,didn't seem as greasy,I thought it might be kinder to my wrinkles as it is supposedly better, can't really say it made my face tan faster though.I haven't used the Elemis so can't tell you anything about it,sorry.T.

Hi everyone

I need advice on sun protection!

About 8 years ago I went ot Egypt and got the best tan ever!!!!! It was gorgeous, Ive never been so bronzed! I had used the Nivea spray on stuff. I then went on a few more holidays over the following years (Egypt, Greece), then developed a horrible rash all over my legs from the Nivea sun spray. I also didn't tan as well generally speaking. I then discovered Piz Buin one day long and have used that for several holidays to Egypt- always been fine but never as amazing a tan as that first one. Then last year whilst in Majorca (not as hot as Egypt) I got absolutely awful prickly heat (I assume prickly heat- not certain as the rash didn't go down until 2 days after being home with no sunshine or sun lotion!), I felt like i needed to sit in ice or something because the pain/stinging/itchng was unbearable. Im sure this problem was exacerbated by the sun lotion. I do suffer with eczema ( though not too severe and normally stress related) and I can't use particularly perfumed products.

Wondered if anyone else has had similar problems and/or can recommend any sun protection lotions which are kind to sensitive skin? I usually use factor 15 all day long stuff as I spend a lot of time in the sea/pool.

Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

Hi Bubblegirl, read back a few post,I'm sure there is some good advice for you,I've been lucky so far and am not allergic to any creams.T.

Bubblegirl, was it Piz Buin you used last year? If it was then read my previous posts.

I've also found that taking antihistamine tablets help a little.

Thanks for the response guys. Just had an after thought. I've used sunbeds in the past (very ocassionally- usually to knock a bit of eczema on the head or to get my skin prepared for the sunshine) and I've used a product called Australian Gold Tanning Accelerator. I have never reacted to this and am wondering about buying their outdoor sun protection- anyone else used it before?

I have been reading all the info on here about Elemis and have decided to give it a go as my legs hardly tan - will see if it makes any difference. Just before I order - can you tell me roughly how long a 125ml tube would last. If it's to be used 2 weeks prior and during a 2 week holiday, how many tubes would I need to buy?
Thanks

Kimi, I used the elemis last year, it was on offer from 'salonskincare' buy one get one free.
I used a whole tube in the 2weeks prior to the holiday and used all of the other tube whilst on holiday.
Like you, I struggle to get any colour on my legs, but the elemis made quite a difference .
It is currently on offer for the same B.O.G.O.F deal, am just about to put my order in !!!

Thanks for that - have just placed my order now with salonskincare. I wasn't sure if the 2 tubes would be enough!
Well here's hoping that my legs will look like they've seen the sun this year and catch up with the rest of me - watch this space :)

Have also just ordered some Piz Buin Radiant face from the same seller to try. Well it is supposed to be anti ageing, anything's worth a try!

Just debating now whether to give the Elemis a go :think

Hi Bubblegirl,

We used the Australian Gold Sun lotion last year in Majorca and found it to be excellent. I bought it because i read (on this forum I think) that it didn't contain mineral oil so was less likely to stain your clothes as some sun lotions do. I bought a multipack of 3 from lookbest.co.uk for about £27 which lasted 2 of us for 2 weeks, which I thought was quite good value. Hope this helps.

I have just bought their tanning accelerator so will have to see how effective it is!! :tup

I love Elemis tan acceslorator - my legs just dont tan without it. The Austrlia gold, seems to have fake tan in it which Elemis doesnt have so isnt 'fake'. Ebay is the best price Ive ever seen for it ;)
