britabroad,
I'm not sure if you'll have access to 'Your Bookings' if you're a Thomson customer (ather than First Choice)m as it's being withdrawn for certain bookings departing after 1st May, but it's worth a try. Other than that, no.

Sorry if these questions have already been asked but i have been searching for hours and i really just want to know now. im flying to the dominican republic from birmingham on the 23rd may just after 9am and was just wondering what plane it will be and what the seating plan is? we have booked through thomson and it says its a thomson airways flight but thats as much as i know. Also is there any way of finding out what films will be on the plane in may and june? i see that the listing are avaiable for april but cannot find them for may or june.
Any answers would be much appreiated
thanks in advance sam
Welcome onboard
Your flights are operated by an ex-FCA Boeing 767-300/ER. For further aircraft details, refer to our dedicated What Aircraft? thread. The May / June IFE listing hasn't been released as yet. BY-TOM-AMM-FCA normally posts it here when it's released. For an idea of what to expect, you can see the March / April listing on page 57.

thanks darren i cant wait not long now, would you say is it worth upgrading or not? my friend and i are only just over 5ft and she thinks we wont need any more than 33" leg room hehe
You'll find my trip reports on the What Aircract? thread linked above and recent photos of the Star Class / SC Premium cabin by clicking on my signature, and on page 79 of this thread (bottom of the page). It's my opinion that there's no need to upgrade. While the Star Class Premium cabin and service is very nice, I don't think it's particularly good value for money personally and the Star Class (economy) cabin provides everything you need. The extra 3" of seat pitch is nice if you need it and the express check-in desk ok for beating the queues on the outbound, but not always on the inbound. There's normally 1 desk allocated to premium passengers on the inbound flight and 3 or 4 for economy passengers. If you do the maths, the ratio of desks to passenger is the same. If all coaches turn up at the same time on the inbound, as is commonly the case, premium passengers often have to queue as long as economy (doesn't always happen, but in my experience more often than not). Even with priority baggage, when you get in-resort, you can get through the airport as quick as you like but you still have to wait for other passengers to board the transfer coaches (unless you opt for a private transfer) so is it really worth getting your bags 5 minutes sooner? Now that premium passengers only get 23kg of checked-in luggage allowance, it's hardly worth paying the extra for 3kg (I get 5kg with my divers allowance!). How many drinks do you have on a flight? Is it worth paying the extra to get complimentory drinks if you have say 3 or 4 through the flight? You can upgrade to the premium IFE for in £5 Star Class. I don't wish to sound neagative as the premium product is very nice. But when you consider the cost; up to £300, I'd rather settle for the very comfortable economy cabin and either use the money to stay at a nicer hotel and get the benefit for 2 weeks, or put it towards activities (diving) while in resort. That's just my opionion of course. If there was a special offer or some premium seats come up at the last minute at a big discount, then I'd consider it. Otherwise, Star Class is good enough for me.

Can someone tell me, do Thomson Airways (ex FCA) sell snacks/sandwiches etc onboard long haul flights as is done on many short haul flights?
GLG,
I have phoned today about extra legroom seats and was told wouldnt be able to book till 6 weeks before we go, is this correct because i know last year we booked about christmas time for a june holiday.
Thanks for your help
LGW-DLM-LGW (TOM408/9) are operated by a Thomson Airways Boeing 757-200 (winglets). What you've been told regarding seating is correct.

Darren thankyou for the quick reply
when i fly to heraklion on 30th july from bristol.
Does anyone know if this will be an ex first choice or thomsonfly??
And will it have winglets??
And is it def a 757??
tom6452/6453
Thanks!
Your Flight Is Scheduled To Be Operated By a Boeing 757-200, Not One With Winglets.
If You Ask Some Time Into The Start Of June We Will Be Able To Look At Operating Aircraft To See It It Is ex FCA or ex TOM

Thanks for your quick and informative reply!
Its very in advance but im off to mexico on the 18th of november out of Manchester can you tell me the pilots name?
You Should Be Able To Pre-Select Seating From May, So Should Not Be A Problem For You.
As For The Pilots Name:
Gower
Darren
are there any pictures of the inside of this plane available
are there any other seating options other than extra legroom on these flights
i have had a search on your site david but failed i am afraid
thanks
whats this about winglets love to know what you are talking about lol
We are flying from B'ham on 10th September to Mexico on a Thomson flight is this an ex 1st choice aircraft as they are much bigger and better than a Thomson one? Also we have upgraded to Premier can we choose which seats we want and if so which are the best window seats? And which films will be showing? Thanks.
I don't have any decent cabin shots of the ex-FCA 752's as the last time I was on one I was in 5F and the couple who were in 5D/E next to me fell asleep immediately after take off so I was pinned in my seat for 4.5 hours There's a photo of the seats on Jetphotos.net. I have one of the Airbus A320-200 which is pretty similar apart from the location of the screens (above the isles rather than above the seats). These aircraft have an all economy configuration, extra legroom seats by the doors are your only option for more room.

Some of the Boeing 757-200 fleet, particularly those being used on further afield destination such as Egypt, Greek Islands and Cyprus, are being retro-fitted with blended winglets. These are vertical extensions to the wings (photo along the 737-800 wing here showing the winglet). Without getting too technical, these winglets are being fitted to many aircraft types as they increase lift and reduce drag by reducing air 'escaping' from the edge of the wingtip. The 'escaping' air causes wintip vorticies and drag. In effect, the last section of the wing produces little lift and is inefficient. The addition of winglets significantly reduces this allowing the wing to perform more efficiently producing aerodynamic benefits to the airframe including;
A reduction in fuel burn and emmissions (less power to produce the same lift)
A reduction in engine maintenance (as they are less stressed)
Improved range and/or payload
Improved handling and stability
Faster climb to altitude
Increased initial cruise speed
Greater safety margins
Environmental benefits
Thomson Airways are due to receive blended winglets on their 767-300/ER fleet later this year with initial figures suggesting a 6.5% reduction in fuel burn.
