We have been to Cappadocia DIY on three occasions. Once by bus and we have driven there twice.

It depends on where you want to stay but 300 quid sounds a bit steep.

Any specific questions I will be glad to try and answer them for you.

not really bothered were we stay as long as clean, just want to see the place as it looks stunning, where did you travel from, think 12 hours on bus from Dalyan ?

Hi Joan.Just booked a trip there from Antalya for some friends. It was 242 TL.each 3 days two nights. At 300 GBP's it's a Rip Off. I would change your agent or do something about it.

We travelled from Antalya by bus and that took about 10 hours we have driven it in 9 hours.I have not travelled directly from Fethiye but 12 hours sounds about right.

We stayed in a backpakers pansyon. Very clean, friendly and very cheap. We had an en-suite cave which was comfortable.

We are both in our sixties and the last time we went there were 6 of us all of similar ages and everyone enjoyed the pansyon.

We met some amazing people there.

me again Joan..I have added my comments here about Cappadocia..

you can easily take the overnights buses that run from Antalya to either Goreme or Nevsehir..it take 9 hours from Antalya and the cost is about 45 liras per person..sorry you cannot fly direct from Antalya to the Cappadocia area..only expensive indirect flights through Istanbul..Buses to and from all major towns and cities in Turkey (and beyond) stop in Goreme daily. Some of the bus companies serving Goreme are: Suha, Metro, Goreme, and Nevsehir. The next major bus station to Goreme is in the city of Nevsehir (10km).

the only low cost flights are from Izmir to Kayseri ..with Sun-Express..

you can do this yourself and dont really need a tour..look on the Trip advisor for acommodation idea

We did the 3 day tour from Side to Cappadocia through a local operator and it was about £40 per person, including half-board and all entrance fees, which we thought was a bargain! It was a very long drive from Side though, so I dread to think how long from Dalyan! I would think long and hard before doing such a trip, if I were you. It is a really interesting place to visit, but I should wait and have another holiday in the Side area and start from there if I were you!
