Another quickie! we have booked half board but will probably be eating out in the evening, does anybody no if you can swap and have lunch instead of the evening meal?? :think
Reply
Yes you can swap evening meal for lunch. You might have to inform them the day before though.

We swopped and didnt tell them they just mark your card to say you have already eaten that day.

We're having all inclusive at the flamingo oasis next month where people tell me the food is top notch.

I just thought that I would let everyone know that this hotel is only offering All Inclusive soft and not full all inclusive. This means that you only get drinks during main mealtimes only. On the Travel Repuiblic site they are offering both all inclusive and all inclusive soft but our friends booked and have now been told that it's a blip on the website and that the hotel does not offer all inclusive only "soft". They have now changed the booking and are going to stay at Dynastic instead.

Work has started again facing the Pelicanos/Ocas. They had wagons full of cement delivered last week and you could see crane moving.

They started putting the metal frame work across whilst we were there in may, I remember thinking we were in them front facing rooms the previous may and now they have this massive crane dangling its load over the hotel.

We were at the front 2 years ago when they were using the pile driver, it woke us up every morning at 8am sharp. :yikes

Just got back from the Ocas had a room in the front of the hotel no noise at all from the crane it was just moving things around all day, more noise from the lads who had the room next door to us, they only arrived the day before we were due home so feel sorry for whoever ended up in the room. Stereo on the balcany at 5.15 this morning not good when i had to get up at 6am. The food was very poor this time, last year was good, this year terrible :(

I said tough you woke me up at 3.45 coming in and playing music you can stop were you are :)

Against my better judgement I have agreed to going on a short break to Benidorm :yikes

Its not my cup of tea but although most people either love or hate Benidorm I'm actually one of the only people that doesn't hate it but I certainly do not love it. Can take it or leave it really but hey its a break for a few days :cheers

My question is, I'm off to the Sol Ocas / Pelicanos and just wondered if the rooms are the same in both buildings or is one building of a higher standard than the other?? I know they can allocate you in either but if one is better than the other I thought I might email the hotel a day or two before I go to see if I can request a room in which ever building is best (no harm in trying).

The person I'm going with has never been to Benidorm and desperately wanted someone to go with and despite my best efforts to make them reconsider so we could go to Costa Del Sol instead, I failed!!

I think the comedy series has attracted them to the idea of Benidorm so I purposely booked this hotel to see if it seems familiar when we get there :rofl

The Ocas isn't open at the moment, only the Sol Pelicanos so it depends when you are going as to where you will be staying. I believe that most of the rooms are of the same standard in both buildings although they have family rooms at the Pelicanos and not in the Ocas. If the Ocas is open then I would email the hotel and request that they don't give you a room facing the side of the indoor market as the view is awful and I believe that those rooms don't get very much sun either.

I hope you enjoy your stay.. It doesn't sound like you are a big fan of Benidorm. :think

Thanks for the info Sue Allen and thanks for your kind wishes Taggy :rofl

I have nothing against Benidorm, its just not a favourite of mine, each to their own and all that. I do however love Spain, so having the choice of being in the UK or Benidorm then naturally Benidorm wins hands down. It does have great nightlife, a lovely beach, nice old town, I think its just the height of the buildings that puts me off the place to be honest. Its fine at night but it puts me off a bit in the day when I can actually see my surroundings :rofl

Its 4 years since I last went so who knows, maybe I'll come back a convert :yikes

As Sue said, the Ocas is closed at the moment,we have stayed at the Pelicanos twice and enjoyed it,most people say this one is the better of the two.I used to love going to Benidorm, every year in March for the last 15 years, loved that time of the year because there wasnt the drunks like in the summer!!but the last 2 years have changed, theres lots of stag and hen parties that go these months now,and ruined it for us in the hotels, foul language, loud and drunk, and kept awake all hours, shame but I wont go back now. :(

Hi mazza,
I think I have read somewhere before about advertising it as an AI option, which turned out to be full board plus, this only included your drinks with meals, unless this has changed of course....Caz
