I have been to Cyprus 3 times, each time to Ayia Napa. The first time would have been nearly 20 years ago, the last being 9 years ago. In that time as I'm sure regular visitors are well aware the area and atmosphere have changed greatly. Although the resort when I first went was certainly not quiet, it was reasonably lively but not rowdy. There were a few traditional little Cypriot restaurants dotted around the resort plus international restaurants, aswell as a few lively bars around the square. When I last went I decided it would probably be the last time as it didn't have the appeal it had years ago. Is there anywhere, now, in Cyprus similar to how Ayia Napa was before it attracted the 18-30 crowd? I am now a 'late' 30 something with 2 young children. I've considered Protaras in the past but think even this appears to have become too commercial from what I read. Any recommendations??
Thanks.
