Thanks very much for the speedy response - much appreciated. Are these planes OK for short-haul destinations, in your opinion?
Regards
Brian

Has anyone else been through La Romana Airport (LRM) this winter whilst the Thomson Destiny has been operating the Caribbean intineraries? I only ask because I thought it was sooo cool that there was 3 ex Thomsonfly 767-300's and 2 ex First Choice 767-300's there on the apron at the same time it just looked like a Thomson airport!!!
That Must Have Been A Sight On The Day You Were There (05/04/09) There Was
BHX (TOM401) G-OBYG - ex Thomsonfly
LGW (TOM533) G-OOAN - ex First Choice
MAN (TOM625) G-OBYI - ex Thomsonfly
GLA (TOM267) G-OOBM - ex First Choice,
Hope You Enjoyed Your Holiday

Does anyone know the reason why TOM 546 (MAN to SSH) on the 03/05/09 was a ex FCA 757 rather than the 767 which was due to do the route??
My only thoughts can be the expected 767 went tech or is on a recuse mission to Mexico maybe??
My family headed out yesterday morning to SSH and was greeted by the 757 rather than the 767..
I think the 767 should be doing the return leg on TOM 547 next sunday.... anyone can confirm what scheduled?
Bit of a shame really... as they were looking forward to the IFE on the 767..
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Rick
Looking for some advice if possible.........
Last week i went MAN to MBJ on TOM101 & returned on TOM102.
On the outbound flight i was unlucky and sat in 23F and the head phone socket did not work..... so no sound for 9 hours..!! tried around 5 pairs of hear phones but nothing... we had upgraded the IFE so got the money back for both seats, (23f & G)...
Cabin crew advised that they will log it for panasonic to fix next time its on the ground for repairs.
On the return flight... TOM102, we were in 24A&B, we paided to upgrade once again... upgraded both TV's but as sound as the upgrade was carried out we got the dreaded BLACK screens when trying to watch the movies, the FA did around 5 reboots of the IFE for us which did not fix it...
The FA advised that its a common issue and needs a full hard reset........ which only seems to fix the issue after the engines have been stopped when on the ground... so we had 9 hrs of bored map watching... and playing some games..
The FA offered us a round of free drinks... ie,.. a fanta and a small bottle of wine which i thought was not good enough really..
The flight was 100% full in Star Class.... but there were 3 seats free in premier which we were advised we were unable to move to after i requested... i said... we dont what any of the addtional extras... just IFE where we got a know...
If i take the time to complain to TOM would you expect i would get anything back??
Im not intrested in money off my next holiday as i will not be using them in the next 12/18 months at least..
Thanks for your advice.
Rick
I've read this with interest for a long time - sorry to make my first post a request!
I'm flying TOM5552 from STN-TFS on 3 July, returning a week later and I wondered if anyone knew the aircraft type that will operate that flight?
I thought that TOM had 2x 737-800 scheduled to be based at STN this summer, but at the moment they have 1x 737-800 and 1x A320, and the A320 operated the flight last Friday.
I would just like to know for sure as I was really hoping for the 737.
thanks very much, both for any help and for this amazing thread.
Paul.
Gower it was 19/04 coming home and there was 2 Manchester planes that day so there was 5 planes!!!
What time will the desks open in cardiff for the 27may to larnaca, flying with tom airways?
Doncaster/Sheffield/ Dalaman Monday flight do you know where the aircraft comes from prior to going to Dalaman.
The flight preceeding TOM448/9 is TOM3102/3 DSA-MAH-DSA. 1 Hour between landing and your departure.
Just phoned Thomson up the deal is this .........
You can only book window seats 3 months prior to departure at an extra cost even if you have paid to sit together. If you ring up
before the 3 months prior to departure you can only request window seats (but these are not guaranteed). The reason for this is that they do not know what aircraft will be used as they say it can change during the busy season. The number to ring to book window seats is 08712314287 (Thomson Airways). Also Babies are allowed 10kg luggage allowance (this does not include your buggy/pushchair) but check with travel agent regarding large pushchairs if they are heavy use this instead of the 10kg luggage allowance like we are as you may be charged for taking the pushchair.
GowerL7 has linked you to my recent trip reports from the What Aircraft? thread when I travel;led on the 73H so any further questions, fire away.
Darren
That certainly must have been a sight but we see it almost daily at Manchester! I suppose the background and weather makes a difference though!
Darren
MAN-SSH-MAN (TOM546/7) are scheduled to be a 767-304/ER so I can only assume a technical problem was the cause or the aircraft was needed elsewhere. Given the 75W only has 233 seats and the 763 has 328, unless a second aircraft was used (unlikely) low passenger numbers may have changed things.
It's unfortunate that you had problems with the IFE on your recent flights. However, you'll not get anything in the way of compensation from Thomson because of it. The cabin crew offered you a little something in flight, that's all they can do.
Darren
Welcome onboard
STN-TFS-STN (TOM5552/3) are operated by an Airbus A320-200. You'll find further aircraft details on our What aircraft? thread. They're quite nice and not much different from the 737-800 from a passengers perspective. The seats a nice light green soft leather although the 73H's have the slimline Recaro seats that give you an extra bit of knee-room.
Darren
The recommended check-in time is 2 - 3 hours before your flight departs. As seating is pre-allocated, there's no point getting there any earlier as you'll have to be there fror about 6am as it is for an 0800 departure.
Darren
Thanks again Daz.
Darren I know you must see thar every day at Manchester but it was more the fact that this was all the way in the Caribbean, they were all 767-300's and they were the only airline present at the whole airport!
