Hi all, new to this and need a reply to stop my wife doing my head in!
We are booked to go to Punta Carna next week and I rang up to reserve seats. We haven't paid for the premium seats but have been given Row 3 which I seem to think is in the "posh bit". Now I've got confirmation in writing to say the seats are reserved but my wife thinks when we get to check in they will see we haven't paid full price and thwy will throw us off or split us up on the plane. I say that the check-in desk wont know how much weve paid and if weve got confirmation it is there error and as the seats are allocated to us they wont change it? What do you think?

babaloo,

Welcome onboard :tup
Which flight are you on? There are several flight to Punta Cana every week. There are 5 or 9 rows of premium seats depending on the specific aircraft, located in the front cabin. Row 3 is in premium. You'll find aircraft details on our What Aircraft? thread. They won't throw you off as you've reserved those seats. Where you originally going to Mexico and re-arranged for Dom Rep? I'm wondering if you'll be on a high density aircraft (no premium cabin) if it's a re-arranged flight.

I would think if you've got confirmation there isn't a lot they can do. I wouldn't think the check-in desk will have details of how much you've paid for the seats will they? The only thing I would worry about is that when we;ve been with First Choice the Premium passengers get to board separately and have their own check in desk so I don't know which one you should go to - I would probably just go to the normal one and play dumb!

babaloo,

I take it you're on the TOM126/7 then? That's the first flight of the summer season and operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER. You may get lucky in that case. You won't be asked to pay anything extra.

Hey

I just had a few queries and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

On thursday Im travelling or Orlando sanford from Glasgow TOM796 at 10:35 (i think) the flight time was changed from 13:30, does anyone know why this was?

Also what aircraft type will the flight be, and is it an ex first choice or thomsonfly plane?
Because its the first flight of the season im hoping its not a very full load so we can move around hehe, is there anyway to find out the load factor?

Anyways, just to satisfy my own curiousity, if anyone knows the answers to any of these, feel free to post!!

Thank u!

oblong_91,

Flight times sometimes get changed for operational reasons. GLA-SFB-GLA (TOM796/8) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. We aren't permitted to comment on load factors, reason here. You'll still be able to move around the aircraft, strech your legs but you'll have to return to your own seat. Further aircraft details are on our What Aircraft? thread.

EDIT: typo

Double check your flight tickets, you will probably find that you will have a P in the class section and you got a free upgrade for whatever reason. I had this happen with First Choice and has the same worries when I checked in but all was fine. Not sure why we were upgraded, it may have been just to sell the cheap seats at the back and as we booked a year in advane with Hayes and Jarvis we got the upgrade.

It is a bit complicated so bear with me. The rest Dazbo has answered.
The first week of May is very busy and complicated, while the airline finishes the last of the winter season along side the new summer season flights(double the flights basically) So the company has to work out how to get two lots of aircraft out of one!

Normally aircraft fly e.g. AAA-BBB-AAA but your flight along with a few others that week are flying AAA-BBB-CCC

The reason your flight time has changed is your aircraft operates back to another base operating the last flight of their winter season schedule But because the following flight to Dominican Republic needs the aircraft earlier than your original schedule allows they had to move your aircraft earlier to get it back to the UK.

This saves the Glasgow-Sanford aircrat going home empty, The 2nd aircraft going out empty and a third sitting around on the 7th for its early flight the 8th.
Those empty flights got BA a lot of bad press and although charter operators can't avoid it like scheduled airlines they are doing their bit to cut down waste and expense.

hope this helps

Your inbound flights look like they are back to normal.

Hi again - first was going to Mexico then cancelled due to you know what, then thought about Maldives but flight back was going to be a problem so we have now rebooked Turkey so can someone PLEEEZE tell me what type of plane Glasgow - Bodrum TOM 832 and return TOM 833 on August 27th/September 10th respectively are. This should finally be it !! Thomson said next years holidays to Mexico should be at a good price once things get back to normal and all they have done is cancel holidays to Mexico.

Thanks again - I think you deserve a medal for putting up with us folks who cant make minds up???!!!
