I'm not sure if these are allowed due to the fagility of the Red Sea eco system itself. Sharm is a bit different from places like Benidorm, the Costas etc it started out as a place just for scuba enthusiasts and then developed into a resort afterwards.

The priority in the area used to be conserving the coral, fish and the general red sea environment. The sea is normally full of dive boats, with scuba divers popping up to the surface and they might be injured or decapited by power driven watersports.

Perhaps in parts of the resort where there is not so much coral or the coral has died you may find these things, as generally the Egyptians will do anything for money. Sharm stretches along 40 kilometers of coast line so there is bound to be watersports somewhere. I would ask the rep.

hi does anybody know if the holiday village red sea is now called coral sea holiday village just the reviews on trip advisor are the same as before but now called coral sea holiday vilage?

Yes i believe it is Allie. That is what the sign says on the entrance of hotel.

Mmmm thought it was still called the Holiday Village Red Sea when I was there a few weeks back.

Perhaps it the hotel that is two hotels away from the HVRS that used to be called the Coral Sea Resort. I'm confused now.

When we were there last year we noticed that it says coral sea resorts at the entrance. The wrist bands and napkins etc also said coral sea but it was definately called the Holiday Villiage Red Sea. People staying at the HV were unable to use facilities at the CS and vice versa.

Apparently the Coral Sea Resort and the Holiday Village are owned by the same people so makes sense if the HV is refered to as that now.I've stayed at both hotels and have to say they are both great.

You will have an excellent time. We are going back in two weeks and cant wait. If you wanted to look at the CS, turn left at the beach and follow the path. We were told last year we could not use their facilities, they have different colour bands.

Hi all, all new to this.....ha ha.

Im travelling to HV on may 27th for 1 week off pure relaxation well am much as i can with 2 kids aged 3 and 1 years old.

Just a few questions....I see on the weather its in The early 30's at the moment but will it be even hotter when im there ...i hope so ha ha ha. Also will it be overcrowded as people have stated about getting up at the crack of dawn just to put towels out...surely it cant be that bad is it????? U only get that in europe dont ya????

And finally is it a all english hotel or are there other nationalitys there???

Are there any others out going the same time as us...if so say hello whilst there...there will be 4 of us me and wife with 2 children boy aged 3 and girl aged 1....u will reckonise us cos my son is a complete nutter.

cant wait till i go.

It was pretty packed when we were there which was the week leading up to Easter. We came home the thursday before Easter weekend. If thats the half term week you are going I would think it would be similar. We still always managed to get sunbeds without getting up at stupid o'clock but it depends on if you are fussy where you sit, which you may wish to be with such little ones. Hubby normally put some towels down at about 8 oclock before we went to breakfast.

You also might be able to manage with just two or three beds which will make it easier, whereas we needed four as my kids are teens and bigger than me lol. If you struggle talk to the pool boys, they can often find a couple of spares and drag them about for you. I would give a small tip for this as the beds are really heavy.

We were either by the heated pool or on the beach. Beds at the beach seem to go later. One of the great thing with this hotel is the number of sunshades, nobody ever mentions this, but they are fixed, huge and all over the place, so if you get beds you automatically get shade. :tup

While we were there it was only English, apparently the week before according to someone I spoke with there were a couple of Russians, they must have felt well outnumbered. My understanding is they tend to go in the winter, when the hotel can't fill up with Brits.

It's a great place for a weeks chill out, have a brill holiday.

Brooker,
We go on the 19th May for 2 weeks so will be there for your week. We went last May and loved it. It was very hot 34 ish but it is very breezy which is nice.
There were a few russians there last year whilst we were there.
Its right about the beach sun beds we could get some last year midday ish.
