Forgive me If I am wrong but dont you go on holiday for a change in cuisine?

All I am taking is a fat but empty stomach! ;)

You should be fine, I think its the other way round bringing meat from Turkey to the UK rather than UK to Turkey.
As long as your not taking the pig to be cut in Turkey

Suzie, you know you can actually get all those things in Turkey ;)

Talk about taking food to turkey ,have a look at this .

Was in glasgow airport last year ,and got talking to this couple who were going out to turkey on the same flight as us .We were waiting for the check in desk to open ,when these two men one leading a dog wlked past ,the dog started whining and sniffing about the cases of the couple .Straight away i thought the worse ,drugs ? and here we were talking to them ,the wife and i got the fright of our lives . The couple were asked to open their cases and lo and behold right on the top there were packets of sausages , bacon ,black pudding ,fruit pudding ,even free range eggs packed in a plastic container ,there was hardly any room for clothes in the case ,it was all confiscated . I was never so pleased in my life ,i felt my holiday slipping away if it was drugs and we were sat talking to them .The couple were the talk of the flight .

Blue Peter that reminds me of when i went to Jamaica a few years ago we had to stand in a line whilst the sniffer dogs walked past us.

I would not go as far as taking eggs though :(

Hi Suemackey.

I worked for 5 years at Birmingham Airport on security, I can tell you if you put the tins of ham in hand luggage they will definitely be confiscated. If you put them in baggage hold, remember that all airport baggage is now screened behind check in, they may possibly return your suitcase and ask you to open it up, however as it is in the hold and you can prove that they are in actual fact tins of ham ie: supermarket reciept there is a good chance they will allow you to keep it, my advice pack them in your suitcase.

Have just read some of your posts.............am I right in thinking that you are taking these things out for someone else? Suemackey, can I just say that you should NEVER! take anything on board an aircraft for anyone else, not only can it be extremely dangerous, but also are you absolutely sure that what you are taking is what they say it is, you would not believe how many people we have stopped carrying goods for other people and everything was confiscated, and on a few occasions the person involved was stopped from flying and banned by the Airline and other Airlines.

PLEASE, only take what belongs to you, you run a very great risk not only to yourself but to other passengers as well.
