Darren,
And therein lies the problem. All the names are on one ticket. One ticket for the outbound with 4 names on it and one ticket for the inbound with all 4 names on it.

They must have change them then! I double checked on mine from the other month and the vouchers were issued seperately. I'd give them a call to check just in case. I still think you'll be ok though, they'll just check the passengers in that are present. Everything is electronic these days so tickets aren't as important as they used to be.

Hi i am flying to Gran Canaria on sat 23rd may flight Tom4642 and returning thurs 4th june Tom4381 which aircraft will it be
LGW-LPA-LGW (TOM4642/4381) are operated by an Airbus A321-200 / Boeing 737-800 (winglets) respectively. Refer to our What Aircraft? thread for more details.

That sounds like a good plan. If you have any specific questions, you know where we are Have you had a look through the Fear Of Flying thread? There's loads of information on there about different phases of flight and aircraft technical details that might be useful for you.
Darren
will have a look.....he has flown before but only 2hrs to reus....has no fear of flying....if plane was going down he would be giving me all the technical details as we went....but 4hrs this time so nice if got something interesting to talk about for a while.....on reus flight he was sat next to a very nice man who was interested and enjoyed listening to him....he gets a bit frustrated with me when I dont understand or not interested
Could you kindly tell me what plane type is scheduled for these & whether it is ex Thomson or FCA?
Many thanks
Paul
TOM592/3 Is operated by a Boeing 767-300 (Short Haul), It will be an ex Thomson

MAN-BVJ-MAN (TOM592/3) are opated by a Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (328y - short haul). Refer to our What Aircraft? thread for more details.
EDIT: We must get the notification emails at exctly the same time Gower!
Darren
Many thanks to you both!
I presume this is using 767-300ER. Is anyone able to tell us if this is Ex FCA or not?
With regards to seating, last year we went to Goa and went on one of these planes. As we were in a Premier hotel we got sit together seats for free. This time we are not in a premier so we had to pay to get this type of seating and decided against the additional cost. I have read you can ring Thomson Fly and book seats for £10 each each way. Having booked through First Choice would i still be able to use this service? Is cheaper than the cost First Choice were charging. Secondly if we didnt pay for sit together what are the chances we won't be sat together even if we get to the airport handy?
Any help appreciated.
Mark
Welcome onboard
MAN-MLE-MAN (TOM188/9) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. Refer to our What Aircdraft? thread for further details. Your flights are operated by Thomson Airways and 'select your seat' is now available to all bookings. Just give them a call 4 weeks before your departure date. It was 6 weeks but they seem to have reduced it to 4. Unless you're particular about where you sit, eg you want a window or centre seat, I wouldn't worry about it. They pre-assign seating the day before your flight so you can be reasonably confident you'll be sat together. I've not been split it on my last 8 flights with them. This cannot be gaurateed however because of the very nature of aircraft seats, ie 2-3-2 so an unlucky few may get split up. That's where pre-booking / select your seat comes in for peace of mind.
Darren
When you say split up.....could this be one of us at the front of the plane and one at the back or just a case of us being split across the aisle as in one in the 2 and one in the set of 3?
TOM use a computer model to allocate seating. It looks at those who have selected their seat, those that have pre-booked and then fits everyone in using a best fit model. A bit like playing a game of Tetris. The vast majority of passengers will be seated together but an unlucky few may not get their wish. For example a couple can be sat in the pairs no problem, a family of 3 in the centre, but what do you do with a family of 4? Either two pairs of seats so they are sat one behind the other, 3 in the middle and one behind etc. They don't split people up on purpose, its just the way it is. They use this model to try and prevent / minimse people being split up and to speed things up at check-in. If you are unlucky and get split up, it'll normaly be across and isle or one behind the other but I can't say really as every flight and passenger load is different. It's unlikely that one will be at the front and one at the back. I know it's a worry being split up on long flights, but I also think there's too much worry and travelling as a couple, you shouldn't have a problem. A familly or group is a different.
Darren
Do you have any idea on what the food is likely to be on TOM038 (LGW-POP). I cant stand cheese so trying to find out ifs likely to be spread all over me meals.
Also, a question about splitting up familys following on from Mark_VTS, We are in the premium section, 2 Adults and 2 kids under 5. Whats the chance they split us up?
Thanks
Thanks Gower. I did look at the list that was put on here, though it does state that premium long haul is denoted by a "p". I cant see any of them on there though.
With ref to Mexico flights with Thomson. As im sure you are aware, Thomson have cancelled flights to Mexico until (as yet!!) 22nd May, and have put on "extra" flights to Jamaica the Dominican Republic, Egypt and Cyprus, to make available extra holidays for those customers who want to amend. One of the new extra flights is on the 6th June from Gatwick. We are due to fly on the 3rd June from EMA-CUN. I presume that these flights/aircraft are the ones that should be used for the cancelled Mexico flights.
What I would like to know is, what knock on effect this will have, how do the logistics of this situation work out?
Holidays after the 22nd up untill 27th can be amended, but not cancelled, if say half of those customers amend, and the other half stay with thier Mexican Holiday, will they really allow those planes to only go half full. Will there be two planes in the first place?
Are Thomsons hedging there bets and hoping for amendments?
Is the extra flight on the 6th June an aircraft that should have been going to Mexico?
In effect, what is your opinion?
So sorry if this sounds like a rant but this situation is so frustrating. Just over 2 weeks to go, got the tickets this morning , and my hands are tied. As of yet we cannot cancel or amend.
Thanks, you have been such a help before, I hope you can help with this, even if you cannot awnser my questions, your honest opinions will be most welcome
Given the circumstances, I think Thomson and the other holiday companes / airlines should be praised in offering alternative in such a short space of time. Those behind the scenes will have been working frantically to re-organise hotels, transfers, staff and reschedule flights in order to offer an alternative holiday rather than cancelling the programme. That's no mean feat. Flights that should have gone to Mexico have been reschedule to other destinates so there's little, if any knock-on effects to other destinations. Flights will go half full if that's the way people choose up to the current dates. However I suspect that won't be the case and many will take up the oportunity to go to an alternative destination based on current information. Becasue of the MP's expenses scandle, the swine flu issue has been dropped as media headline, but it's still causing problems. It's unfortunate that you've been mixed up in all this and I imagine it is very frustrating at not knowing what is going on, but the holiday company's hands are tied and they have to go with whatever the current information from the FCO is while providing alternatives or refunds for those who can't / wont go to Mexico. At least you have a holiday to look forward to, but maybe not to the destination you had hoped for. Just think of those mixed up in the bankruptcy problems last year who lost everything.
