I really like the sound of the Teppanyaki restaurant. It wasn't there last time we went .
I don't see porridge on your breakfast list. That was my favourite so I hope they still do it. Having said that we always go to the residence for breakfast - never the Village so maybe it's a residence thing. They call it creamy oats but it's porridge.
I've edited the list, sorry I forgot about the porridge!! There's probably a lot more I forgot too tbh as it was only from memory.
that was a great report Guernsey family,
glad you enjoyed it, bet you will be back next year !!
I'm looking forward to my holiday now ... 3 weeks tomorrow
The url is worldwidewebdotlykiaworld2009dotblogspotdotcom/ or lykiaworld2009.blogspot.com if that's easier?
We are going to LK for the first time on the 4th June and taking our 10 month old son. Not sure if he will settle in the creche in the evening when he is used to being in bed. Are there any of the evening shows that you would say are unmissable? If so we will arrange a baby-sitter for those evenings.
Thanks in advance.
Marcia
Marcia - take him to the shows. Everyone goes. You can sit near an aisle and leave if he gets restless.
I agree, at the couple of shows we went to last year loads of folk thake their babies. Just let him sit on your lap. It's all very informal and if he gets restless you can just leave, I wouldn't go to a lot of trouble and expense booking babysitters. Try it a few times first.
hi all,
Gregg, hope your trip has been ok and not long till your chopper taxi arrives!! See you on the 8th in the sun......

anyone going to lw for the first time have a look on lykia.com to see the virtual tour it gives you an idea of what the rooms are like and what all the restaurants look like, plus all the pools and surroundings. off again in august and cant wait.
only thing is, it lists it as a double room, and we'd want a twin.....
Is a) this price a good or average one (the next one via Thomsons comes in at £1450 per person...so nearly £3k . . .
Help anyone?
Thanks
Karen x
In my experience - and I've been to LW 7 times - all their double beds are in fact 2 singles pushed together.
They might have changed that - I haven't been for a while - but I doubt it.
When we were there last summer a few families of 4 we spoke with had paid about 6K for a fortnight so that is more like 1.5K each. This was as we were leaving though so it was going into first two weeks in August, which I imagine is the peak.
I would go for it, there are not many places to beat it really for this kind of family resort.
I dont think it has changed much Bridd.
Yes the closest Ive found is £1400 each, I just wish I didn't have to pay adult fares for my 8 year old. Not only does he not eat or drink very much of course, it makes it an expensive holiday...after a trip to the Dom Rep when it was slightly cheaper for 2 weeks 5* but all inc, we really didn't get out money's worth...
go for it, you both will love it, as all do once they have been.... everyone wants to go back year after year, or they try to find another holiday like lykia world but never can .... need i say more ?
I'm off on monday my 5th time
cannot wait, lovely sunshine, hospitality, always great food and people who are great to chat to over a drink or by the pool.
your son will love it ... he won't want to come home
gregg
And Greg, have fun ~ Im sure he wont want to come home . . .Ive felt that way each time we've been to turkey!
was the diy price i sent you to lykia no good then, or has that gone up i havent looked recently, that was around £1200 each from what i can remember
karen
arrived back monday evening from LW, it was great, as it is normally.
nothings changed, food and shows are the same. prices are 5.50 euros for a short and 2.00 euros for a soft drink, so for vodka n coke your looking at 7.50 euros and on top of that you pay 18% tax when you pay your bill.
spa prices are high too, nothing under 25 euros.... sports massage was 75 euros for 50 minutes.
Staff as always were great, however there was a lot of new staff around but the regular ones are still there. there's a little funfare on the helipad which is open in the evenings for the young ones.
very quite while i was there, and was told that this year its going to be 65% british holiday makers, credit crunch have hit the germans and russians hard, but some are still going. also the women are not dressing up too much with all their bling on, yes most dress up with a nice dress but not over the top and the men... most of then had shorts n trainers on or jeans only a few like myself made the effort to dress casually for the evening.
the wine house is only open on friday and saturday evenings ... might open longer when in full swing !!
other than the above we enjoyed ourselves as we always do at Lw.
The cheapest quote from belfast for last 2 weeks in august was about £7k for 2ad 3 kids 2,8,10 we only paid £2.5 which was a bargain..I just cant justify paying £7k
So if anyone can point me in the right direction for a much better price
