when i rang them direct they quoted me £650 for 2 adults and 1 child for a week in oct for room only, as ive got my flights booked already,in the end i booked with monarch and got the price for £476 and i will also get 5% cashback,so thats about £452 , so thats nearly a difference of £200 for a week, i did question it and she said send proof and they might be able to price match, but whats the point of that, and i would lose my cashback lol and would rather help another company by booking to keep prices lower lol
i recently took the plunge and have booked two weeks in lykia world this august.
i will be staying at the residence with my wife and 9 year old son.i was wondering if anyone can help me with a couple of queries about the resort.ive booked the sea view side room at the residence,do you know are the rooms the same size as the garden view in the residence?,on a previous post it was also mentioned that the seaview is overlooking the pool, and can be very noisy at night is this the case?.i suppose the question is,is that room really worth the extra supplement.
i also have read that the reort can be very expensive,£5 for a british newspaper! really is that the case.
as we are not big drinkers do you think £500,would be enough for two weeks, with perhaps just a coupl of trips outside lykia.
we are really looking forward to this holiday, especially after all the great reviws ive read on this site,so if anyonr can offer me any other valuable tips it would be most appreciated.
We've never spent as much as £500. I don't know what the newspapers cost as we don't buy them on holiday, but everything in the LW shop is expensive. We tend not to shop in it.
bridd have you booked yet, we are there for a week in oct and cant decide what to do the 2nd week, oh decisions lol
Eagleswill - you can pay your bill at the end with plastic, so you don't need to worry about taking money with you to pay for hotel extras. It is really entirely up to you how much or how little you spend. We made do with the included drinks, so never had a big bill and it is never wise to buy a newspaper abroad, they are always very expensive! Take a lilo or rubber ring with you as they are expensive in the shop. The seaview is nice, but the trees get in the way a bit unless you get the top floor.
Mehmeh - can you confirm where the seaview rooms are? We have booked side seaview in the Res but I assumed these were north facing, ie away from the Res pool.
Yes, towards Olu Deniz. They weren't really 'side' seaview, it was straight ahead, more 'partial' seaview. Our view was better than that from our sons' room next door and the floor above would have been better still. They are in a good position to pop straight down to the adults pool and that area. In case anyone is interested, they told us that none of these view rooms are interconnecting. It is a lovely view and I think it is worth paying a bit extra for. But the garden view we had before was nice too, in a Center Parcs wooded sort of way! Mary
my 9 year son keeps asking me is there somewhere he can play football
Yes there is All the youngsters used to meet and have a game after dinner. There is football and basketball.
smashing,thanks starry
but after seeing where the residence rooms are situated,i am concerned that we are to far away from the main hub of the childrens paradise.
how far do you think it we will have to walk,as im sure our 9 year old will be aiming for that location every day.
do you think i should transfer my booking in the residense to the village?
That would be perfect for us, Mehmeh. What we don't want is to be above the residence pool as the balconies aren't private and it would be noisier.
There is a little bus (infact I think there are two) that runs around the complex. Has three or four stops. Being there in the height of summer last year it was almost too hot too walk up to the Childrens Paradise, most people used to hop on the little bus. They seem to run all the time on a circuit
Definitely not - the residence is much nicer and more convenient at mealtimes. There is a minibus to take you to the Children's Paradise. Just wait at the shaded bus stop (with a seat) for it! I think the people staying in the village use it too, they get on at their reception, but you will have got on first and thus will have a seat and not have to stand!
Eagleswill - I wouldn't change for that reason. The residence rooms are no further from the paradise than some of the village rooms. In any case the shuttle bus runs all day long to the paradise and takes just a few minutes. You might find your son spends just as much time around the village pool. It's always full of kids.
i agree with bridd, we were in the village and were still a long walk from the kids paradise, by the way the bus didnt just stop at reception for village guests, there are areas scattered around the complex to wait and board the bus, not everyone is getting on the bus for the paradise, we were quite a walk from reception too so sometimes used the bus for that, people are getting on and off most stops . there are pools, restaurants etc all over lykia so you might be a good walk away from 1 thing but nearer another, we were the furthest from the reception but right next to the adult only pool, the fish restaurant, archery etc , i wouldnt want to be near the kids paradise as its towards the back of the resort and rooms would have no sea view and might be noisy
ive just worked out my diy booking for a week at lykia, private trans, flights for 13 nights and 6 days at olu deniz resort all inc and the grand total for everything for 3 of us is £1380 which i think is a bargain, this also covers oct half term where prices especially flight prices are high
Hi Ellie-Meg, I have been to Lykia the last two years and looking to go back again in October for a week from 3rd October. Two adults and my 16 year old daughter. It just seems so expensive this year. Can you tell me how you did it DIY, who did you book with etc. Flights also. Thanks again in advance.
yes i booked my out going flight with easy jet, my return flight with flythomascook and booked lykia world with monarch hotels, who seem to have a good price at the moment, although ellie is only 9 so got a free child place in lykia. i also went through quidco and topcashback to get some extra discount off my flights and lykia room.
what prices are you getting at the moment, where are you flying from
karen
