Hi all
Being me I never like to keep things simple - not when I can really complicate things.
I'm off to Turkey in just over 2 weeks but coming over to Rhodes for the RhodesRocks weekend. I have been advised it is better value to take english money to Turkey and exchange it in the Banks in Turkey.
But what about when I come over to Rhodes?
Am I better carrying English to exchange for Euros in Rhodes OR getting my Euros before I travel OR exchanging from Lira to Euros either in Rhodes or Marmaris?? (This question has been duplicated on the Turkey forum)

Why not keep it really simple. Use ATM in both countries.
But is the rate my bank will give me (which last year also included commission) be as good as the rate the local banks will give me??
it depends on your bank.. mine gives interbank rate less 21/2% commision [todyas interbank rate is 1.1366 less commision =1.108 todays spot tourest rate is 1.103]
If you're taking sterling for Turkey then you might as well use that in Rhodes too. I know the rate for the lira used to be pretty poor in Greece, if i had any left after a day in Turkey i'd normally save it for the next trip over. The sterling to euro rate when i was in Lindos is pretty much the same as here.
