icmeler is lovelly you will enjoy it
you would fly into dalaman airport
transfers take about 1.5 hours by minibus, coach a bit longer.

Loved this resort last year. Was only back 2 days before we'd booked to go again to July, in the same hotel (Arum).

You fly to Antalya. Our transfer was probably just over an hour (we had a 2 hour delay getting there, it was just before midnight when we landed, so I slep on the bus and don't really know how long we were on there for!).

The resort is reasonably close to Mannavgat, Belek and Antalya for any day trips. Side town seemed to be good - we only went there once because of the heat, but plan to go more this year. On the road going towards Side from the hotel there was a huge amount of bars (not noisy) and shops (including jewellers) - this kept our family of four, two adults, two girls (8 & 14) happy.

It was extremly hot and humid in August/September (even some of the locals agreed it wasn't usual) - we even got a tiny bit of warm rain (typically on the night the hotel had planned a BBQ).

Feel free to ask any more questions about Side, and I will try to answer them!

I have never stayed in Icmeler but I have stayed in Bitez and I have spent time there alone. I think Icmeler is bigger than Bitez (someone correct me if I am wrong). Bitez is small, laid back, a great place to chill, there are lots of lovely restaurants, a couple of bars and some good accomodation. The beach is nice, some parts shingly and other parts sandy and most things are set along the beach front.

Bitez is just 15 minutes away from Bodrum by dolmus so you can easily go in for the day to do some shopping or sightseeing and it is about 40 minutes from the airport by car, 1 hour by coach transfer.

I would certainly recommend Bitez if you are going alone as it is small and friendly and most of the accomodation is on or just back from the beach so you don't have to worry about getting back on your own at night.

I quite Side again... were there some years ago, it was fab, had a 5* AI hotel, but spent a lot of time locally, some of the best bars we have been to, plus nice and cool bowling alley! But we also found it very humid which was pretty unbearable, around 85% which puts me going back again.. what is it like at the beginning of July? Also like a nice beach, the one we were staying at wasnt good, nor the pool to be honest.
