We're off to club cettia apartments in marmaris in september, and on our invoice it says we have to check out of our room at 12 noon, but our flight home isnt until the early hours of the morning.
This would mean we would have nowhere to get a shower in the evening before enjoying our last night.
Is there any chance we could pay to use the room for a little longer?
I dont know what the standard procedure is for this, because when we go to Goa we have always been able to keep our rooms, no matter what time our flight is.
I do know it is normal in the med to vacate the room by midday, so cleaners can prepare for the next guests.
most of the time you can pay a bit extra to keep the room on. and often there is a room you can use for showers etc.
Last year, different apartments, we were able to pay and keep on the apartments until 6pm for a fee, which did help somewhat, but reception was unable to confirm this would be possible until the last day. I am just keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to do the same this year, or at least that there will be a courtesy room available to use.
Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've always just asked nicely and been allowed to keep the room on until needed at no extra charge.
Yeah I have been lucky like that in the past, but I guess it just depends on how busy the hotel is and how soon they need the room for new arrivals. I'd have booked for an extra night if I'd known we were going to be flying early morning. Still, the upshot is we get another day in the sun so not all bad
What are your flight times yummymummy?? (both ways)
Yeah we have the same problem, but were just going to go hoping that once we get there we can ask at reception if we can keep it on until later, we dont mind paying either
On our last few holidays, if we've had late flights, we've always paid to keep the room until we leave. Generally speaking, the plane that you leave on, is the plane the new guests are arriving on, so the hotel can usually still turn the rooms around, even if they let you keep it until you leave. It's much less hassle to do it this way, especially if you have kids like we do.
The biggest problem with checking out at mid day, is that your cases are just left standing in reception, or you have to keep them with you around the pool! I'm always amazed to see families with their cases wedged between their sun beds all day, just for the sake of £20-25. For this security aspect alone I think it's worth keeping the room on because if your cases (or anything in them) are stolen from reception, there's no way the hotel will accept responsibility.
Here's what you do with this, You book an extra day from another company, That way your guarnteed to keep the room on untill such times you leave inform the reception you booked it on arrival that way you keep the same room, A lot of these hotels will only let you keep the hotel on for a short period of time which might be no use whatsoever, And remember the plane thats coming with others isnt the only one that arrives at Dalaman.
I had thought of that already but cannot get any availability for our hotel elsewhere unfortunately, it seems it really is full! The hotel has emailed me back saying checkout can be extended until 7pm for £25, but this isn't guaranteed and we have to ask at reception upon arrival. I guess that's not ideal but the best we can do under the circumstances.
Providing they have a secure place to keep our luggage, we'll go out for a wander, have a nice meal and a few drinks to end our holiday, that will pass the time and won't make the wait seem too long.
Glynis, my flight times are depart from manchester at 18:55, arrive dalaman 01:15 local time.
Flight home - we land back at manchester a 05:00 local time, so i would say we depart from dalaman at 02:45 local time.
Right so your room will be booked from your day of landing so it's available for you in the early hours.
