Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Discussions relating to flight only, airlines and airports.

The second of these two links above shows the current interior of most of Monarch's A321 fleet. The other is a fairly old picture. The only aircraft that do have a leather interior are the new ones that came from GB Airways (via Easyjet): G-OZBT and G-OZBU. They are based at Manchester for summer '09. These have 207 seats in total, but it is planeed that these will be reconfigured after summer to fall in line with the rest of the Monarch fleet to 214. I am not sure however if the seating on these aircraft will be changed to cloth. Personally, I do much prefer the leather.

Any chance of G-OZBT and G-OZBU been on the MAN-CFU flight or well it been one of Monarch's originals ?

Yes, MON3528 is still down to be an A321 throughout July

Will the flight be operated by an ex EZY 321 or one of the originals ?
Really need IFE during a flight.
No strikes then.

Well, there's every chance it could be on BT or BU but just looking back at which aircraft have flown the MON3528 all summer, there is no record of it having been on either of these aircraft before. I do think Monarch's interior is quite smart regardless of which aircraft you fly on. But then, I might be biased :D
Your flight should have IFE on board. You can check above for the possible films that may be shown.

Dazbo5 and partyboy_uk ... I'm sure that boygeorgefan appreciates all the advice and info being given, even if gratitude is never expressed in any posts.

The MON5204/5 is on an A300-600. Because this is a charter flight, you are able to pre-book your meal. You may be unaware of it but a meal may already be included with the price of your ticket. You will need to speak to your travel agent to clarify whether you have a meal included or not. If you do wish to have a meal and do not have one included then you must add this on with your travel agent.

There is now an option on Monarch charter flights to purchase a meal should there be any remaining once all the pre-ordered food has been given out. However, you are not guaranteed a meal in this instance and I recommend you do not rely on this option if you are wanting a meal on board.

Prices of meals on Monarch are pretty much the same as with other ailrines.

chocaholicsanon,

LGW-RHO-LGW (MON5204/5) are operated by an Airbus A300B4-605R. You'll find more aircraft information over on our What Aircraft? guide.

EDIT: Partyboy_uk just beat me to it!

have a look at what they actually do have available in flight and the pricing. Be aware that they menu is sectioned into what time you flight leaves (ie more like breakfast or dinner etc)

chocaholicsanon,

You will notice that it says on the Monarch website, "We do not have a facility to pre-book any meals on Monarch Scheduled flights." Your flight is not a Monarch scheduled flight but rather a charter flight (because it is prefixed with MON on the flight number and not ZB) and there will not be the option to purchase food until everybody else has been served and even then only if there are meals left over to sell. Of course, feel free to take sandwiches with you, but I would check with your operator if a meal is included in the price of the ticket. If it is, then you may not need to concern yourself with lunch boxes which will have to make up part of your handluggage allowance.

Does anyone have any recent photos of the interior of the A330, standard and premium cabins?

Also, trivial question, which newspaper is provided in premium?
Reply
it says on my tickets no meal purchased..
so it looks like sarnies. i dont mind anyway..as i think what they give you is a joke..and so hard to eat with minimum space for your elbows and tummy...
thanks for the help though guys. really helpfull.

Mobor One,

Those pictures of the A330 premium cabin are quite old. I will send you some more recent ones privately. I do not have copyright on them so I wouldn't like to post them publicly. As for newspapers, Monarch usually provide the Independent or the Telegraph. Please check your Messages shortly for a link to those photos.

We have booked man-ace for march 2010 (ZB626/7) and reserved seats in row 9 on I had assumed maybe an ex gb A321.

Can partyboy or dazbo advise if the aircraft are re-configured will we still get the row in front of the exit or does the online seat mapping reflect the standard monarch fleet ?

On the website there are quite a few greyed-out seats which are marked as 'Fleetbooked' rather than 'occupied' , any ideas on why this is?

sorry for the many questions and many thanks for your advice

cheers
Andy
