i think thomson have made a mistake when saying that a/i was an option.
i went last year no a/i and now this year no a/i so i don,t think a/i was ever available.
i think i would cancel and book somewhere else or you could contact the hotel and ask if they would honour the a/i.
That's a very good idea. I may contact the hotel directly to see if the A/I will be honoured.
can you imagine 2 weeks of explaining your AI to staff everytime you go the bar, want ice cream etc?
I would definately want it confirmed before i went, even though your booking clearly states A/I. Other than that make sure you get hold of your Thomson rep once at hotel for them to deal with and get it sorted . Otherwise you have been sold a holiday that you didn't book , and it might be harder sorting things out after. Do the foot work now . keep records of all correspondance and make sure you take peoples names and dates that you speak to on the phone , you never know if it might be needed at a later date, I hope you get things sorted .
As far as I am concerned, I have an email that clearly states I have booked A/I and I have indeed noted the time and date I rang Thomson. I intend to email them too, but knowing these holiday companies I doubt I will get a written response.
I believe it is full board plus which is full board and drinks with lunch & dinner & that's it. Don't think they do all inclusive.
Im having same problem. Have booked to go august 3rd 2010 on All Inclusive basis as well. Been into travel agents as we booked with thomson travel agents and even she couldnt understand why it had gone off either. She telephoned them and they said on the old booking system it says its still available but get this she did a pricing and it came up as an extra £9000 ontop of the holiday price which she said was extortionate. They said they was going to email another department to investigate why its gone off the booking system online and the new system they using in shops. Still waiting to hear back from them am getting worried as if as has been stated on previous reply they will honour the booking how can they if the hotel does not do All In.
Just had a call from thomson and they say its full board plus and comes up on booking form as all in which i dont belive as all in is all in not full board plus going to get some advice on what we can do.
I've had no contact from either the hotel OR Thomsons. I have emailed both twice now. I am not at all happy if they think I am paying for all inclusive and only getting full board plus! I rang Thomson when AI first went off the website and they insisted that the board basis WILL be honoured.
Have just spent 15 minutes on the phone and have still not got an answer from Thomson about this. The guy I spoke to had to go and speak to his team leader and eventually came back and told me that his team leader was on another call and they don't know how long he will be. They wanted to take my telephone number andcall me back, but I have asked for an email to be sent. I doubt very much this will happen as holiday companies rarely put things in writing in case it costs them.
I know what you mean Duncan. I rang my home insuirance who i have legal cover with he told me to write a letter with booking reference number on to customer services at thomson state what the problem is and what you want to happen say that you going to go to abta if no resolution to the matter and you have a six month window to do all this in if still no satisfaction take it further with legal action. He even went to the thomson website to have a look too and its not there. I must say though Full Board Plus is not All inclusive which is what i have stated in the letter they have really sold us a holiday that although the hotel exists the All Inclusive dosent. We rang them and got different answers each time so gave up on that going to try it this way and see what happens. They surely cannot sell a holiday as All Inclusive then say well no it comes up as All Inclusive but its actually Full Board Plus (which is what they said in the thomson shop) its just not on. Anyway will keep you posted on what happens.
Theres one on trip advisor having the same problem as well might be a idea for you to do same if we all compain maybe they will take note
For some reason there's no flight from Cardiff to Gerona from next year. I'm really gutted about this as was about to book the Taurus for next year. Only 1 flight a week was going there & now Thomson have stopped it.
As expected, I have had no email from thomson. My next step is to write to them and I will threaten to go to ABTA if I get no reply.
my letter went 1st class recorded so i can track when its been recieved and ive only given them 10 working days to reply them im off to abta. I think they going to get a fair few complaints about this.
so looks like we have a All In holiday that dont exist
If that's the case, I want a reduction in the cost of my holiday.
just wondering what has happened with your holiday did you get a reduction, hope you did.

I am putting together a letter and will posting it to Thomson on Monday. This is the guidance on the ABTA website and I intend to follow this through to the end. It's disgusting how a company as big as Thomson can treat paying customers like this.
