Has anyone noticed how high the prices are for the Riu Cancun in Mexico for next year.
Last year we paid £5400 this year its nearly £6300 which is a very big jump.
Does anybody know what the best time to book a Summer 2010 holiday is, such as when the prices drop at all?

I think the best way to get a good price, is to spend 5 mins checking every day. Boring 
but thorough.
I checked a holiday one year that was consistently between 1,800 and 1,900 (this was with a company called Eclipse who are no longer about unfortunatly) one day it was suddenly 1400. I rushed, got my CC and booked then and there.

That will be the APD the government have slapped on Long Haul holidays, its pushed the long haul prices up so badly. I signed one of those petition things on the number 10 website, although doubt it will do anything.
Thing is if the government spent it on the environment I might not mind, but they don't!! Grrr so all it does is push the price up, I really fancied Mexico next year as well.

We are going to book a late deal and as we are waiting to find out about a job for my husband we holding out as long as possible.

My partner took ill on holiday and used the 24/7 line and the services of the rep and the care and service was above and beyond. Would really like to ensure it gets passed onto the right people as I'm sure they get plenty of complaints over a season

going back to z.j.c's question, I totally agree with doe, best to check on a daily basis if you can, i've noticed prices fluctuating, only slightly, but seems like mid september is a good time to look, not sure why, we too are looking for mexico and hanging around trying for the best prices, so good luck, and keep looking !
Hi JKKne. Most companies have a 'contact us' link on their web site so you could try contacting them through that, giving the name of the rep I'm sure they would be delighted to get some praise. I do hope your partner is now fully recovered.

Yes I do all the time with either First Choice or Thomson shops. They have always price matched my holidays, and sometimes they have even bettered the price.

I have done this with Thomson quite a few times now, and they always match the price. \You have to take in a copy of cost etc printed from your computer. They always have to speak to the Manager, but it is always yes. I think it is all kidology as it is in their own interest to match the cost and I am sure it is the policy to agree anyway

Please be careful if you include a Taxi in your holiday,when we arrived at Dalaman no taxi and nobody knew we had booked this service,took us 45mins to sort out the problem which was solved because we had our invoice with us.On the way back no taxi arrived again dispite the rep calling the day before we were due to depart,the hotel reception finally sorted the problem out,the taxi that turned up had NO a/c and the drive to Dalaman 1hr 15mins was with the windows open all the time this is a very poor service from Thomson Holidays and we payed 93pounds for it.
