Darren/ZJC,

Thanks again - sorry for sounding like a Moaning Minnie! I am really excited about getting away and we've flown much worse (Astraeus, no entertainment to Taba, with a 2 hour delay stuck on the plane).

Cheers!

Thanks Dazbo and ZJC, hopefully we'll try for row 12 as its the two of us, and with DBCI its a possibility , also will ask the missus to be nice to the thomson check-in staff before we fly as she works in the North Terminal , those seats look good as they are a pair and not near toilets etc where people seem to hang around!

No problems at all guys here to help you with any queries you have.

On a separate note -

Just heard that G-OBYH and G-OBYF will be refitted with IFE and will be leaving the fleet to operate for Tuifly Nordic wondering if anyone can confirm this?

Hi Guys,

I am booking next years holiday flying to Antalya on flight TOM228 from Luton. This year I flew there from East Mids on a 757-200 which was absolutely fine but one internet site suggests a 737-300 is operated on this route from Luton and that worries me as I have kids who won't appreciate no IFE.

Firstly is this correct, and secondly if so, are these planes really old and nasty and as they have no IFE wouldn't I be bettre going from BHX, East Mids or LGW?

Lastly, I'm not going til July 2010, so is it likely for Thomson to change the plane that operates this route between now and then?

Thanks in advance, ;)

devilsimon,

Welcome

The Schedules Have Not Yet Been Released For Next Year, So It Is Difficult To Say Exactly What The Aircraft Would Be. You Are Right That This Year's Flight From Luton Has Been Operated Using A Boeing 737-300. And That This Could Quite Possible Be The Same Next Year As Luton Normally Have A 737-300 Based There.

The 737-300's Are By No Means "Old And Nasty" The Oldest Was First Flown In 1995, Which In Terms Of Aircraft Is Not That Old And They Are All Very Well Maintained.

If You Were To Fly From BHX or East Mids (EMA) Then You Would Most Probably Be On A Boeing 757-200, These Have IFE And Are Arround The Same Age As The 737-300.

However As I Have Already Said It Is Very Much A Guessing Game As The Schedules Have Not Yet Been Released.

thanks for that............I think I'll have to re-book as if i leave it too long the holiday price will increase. Really don't want 2 bored kids without IFE even if it is only 4 and a half hours!!

z.j.c/GowerL7,

It wouldn't surprise me - I flew from FUE-LGW on G-OBYH last September and asked the very friendly crew about why I was on a 767 as opposed to the 757 I was expecting... they told me that YH usually operated for Tuifly Nordic then (which was backed up by the Nordic branding on the IFE map screens), but was a spare at LGW at the time and as my rostered 757 had gone tech, it was called on to deputise.

GoldenKnight,
I am guessing they are going back to there rightful place then. I suppose Thomson leased them for a while to cover some flights. Now they have merged with First Choice they have a wide range of 767's and soon 787's however with the 787's being delayed it will be a long time before we see a Thomson 787 although im sure it will be a day in UK aviation history to remember.

G-OBYH has been operating in the Thomson UK fleet for some time now, it appears TuiFly Nordic already acquired G-OBYB from Thomsonfly and G-OBYH has been operating under a UK registration since 2002.

As for G-OBYF it has always operated for Thomson UK.

Bunny74,

Your flight (TOM046) is still operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER (2-3-2). If you ask again on Friday, we can give you an indication of the registration to expect. It makes little difference, they are all the same inside. I'll be around until Friday afternoon, but I'm working Friday evening so I'm sure Gower or z.j.c will check for you if I don't have chance.

Hi can anyone help.
I am flying out tomorrow thursday 20th on flight Tom620 14.50. So that i can keep an eye on it, can anyone tell me what flight the aircraft operates prior to this flight. What is its inbound flight number so that i can track it. Thanks for any help

steve6447,
Looks like the A321 G-OOPE operates this flight every week without fail.

Before it operates your flight it comes in from Alicante on TOM4417.
