Hi
Were going to Sharm El Sheikh with First Choice (from Manchester) on the 1st Sept and from all the info I have gathered from this site we are travelling on a 767-300?
We have chosen to book our seats in advanced and have chosen the last two window seats on the plane (seats 46 A and B). Was this a ok choice as I have heared now that these are the worst seats on the plane? Not sure why?
Had a nightmare last year with people hitting the back of our seats all flight and at least with these no one will be behind us?
Any advice?
Thanks a lot
Rhion
Welcome onboard
Do you know what your flight numbers are? Please quote them if you can as there are often several flights. There are two on a Tuesday; TOM876/7 and TOM442/3. As it happens, both are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (328Y / short haul). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide, including a seating plan. Seating is always personal preference. As it's the last row of seats on the aircraft, you'll have a bulkhead behind you so no-one to kick the back of your seats! You might find there's limited recline.

It's the TOM442 we are going on! Someone said that the only toilets on the plane are the ones located behind our seats (i.e back of the plane) is this true??
It's also probably too early to know if we have seat back TV's or the overhead one's is it?
Many thanks
Rhion
There are toilets located at the front of the aircraft but this is only one toilet . Just after rows 14 there are two toilets and then a further 2 toilets located just after row 25 or so if I can think correctly.
It is a a bit early but if you ask a day or two before we till have a better idea and be able to give you the information.

Have a look at the seating plan linked from the What Aircraft? guide. The location of the toilets are shown on the seating plan. Remind us the day before your flight and we'll give you an indication of the specific aircraft assigned to your flight and whether it'll have seat back IFE. There's a 66% chance.

I'm travelling from London Gatwick to Palma Mallorca in September on flight TOM4658 - does anyone know what type of plane this will be?
Also, I've heard that apparently Thomsonfly allocate seats the day before - does anyone know the likelyhood of me and my friends being seated together - we booked out tickets at the same time through our villa company etc, and there's 6 of us? Obviously if we're all going to be seprated we may consider paying to sit together as I don't want to be left on my own (slightly nervous flyer!!)
Thanks1€
LGW-PMI-LGW (TOM4658/9) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide. Seats are allocated the day before the flight. Most people get seated together. However, due to the nature of aircraft configurations, it's inevitable some get split up or are seated across an isle. Seating can be pre-booked or specific seats selected (at extra cost) for peace of mind.

Flying tomorrow morning GLA-CUN Flight No. TOM348 Does anyone know the registration of the aircraft?
Registration will be G-PJLO coming in from Sanford Florida before operating your flight to Cancun.
Boeing 767-300 ex-FCA. Seating 2-3-2 throughout the cabin.
Enjoy your flight

Thank you very much
G-OOBK (Boeing 767-300 ex-FCA) is currently out of service.
G-OBYH looks like it is covering the flights at the minute ( Flights to Cancun anyway)

as we are not going until 26 sep from man to cozumel with all the current swapping and changing of aircraft do you know which we should be travelling on i know we are supposed to be flying ex FCA
thanks
I was wondering if anyone could help me. Myself and my husband returned from Cancun on Tuesday 18th/Wednesday 19th. When we reached the airport we were told our flight was delayed for 6.5 hours, it ended up being only 3 hours late but we were on a short haul plane with no seat back IFE, it was overhead screens. We had upgraded to premium and we were told by the crew that once we were off the plane there would be Thomsonfly staff handing out letters explaining how we would get our upgrade money back. However there was nobody there handing out letters and we were very tired from the flight and just wanted to head home instead of going to the Thomson desk, which no doubt would have been very busy as a number of people on the flight were not happy. Does anyone have any experience of this and know how I would now go about getting this refund?
Many thanks in advance
Suze
I would imagine your flights will be safe come september time as the traffic gets quieter, I am a bit suspicious myself as to some of the changes being more due to capacity than Maintenance issues. I would imagine you will be safe on the ex-FCA 767 but if you ask us the day before someone will check this for you.
I do know one of the ex-FCA is having recurring problems as the cabin crew told me but they said they were hoping to get it repaired.
Otherwise some of the ex-TOM 767's in short haul config are returning to Long Haul config shortly just not sure when.

I have just noticed your flight TOM196/7 was changed to G-OBYH the same thing happened to me on the same flight 2 weeks ago however we were changed to G-OBYE which has IFE. It looks like a recurring problems with the TOM196/7 flights as they are changing the aircraft frequently. (21st July and 4th August) the plane was changed was changed for my flights. It has also now been changed for your flight. I am rather suspicious as to why they changed the aircraft but it does look like your change was due to Maintenance on a aircraft which is out of service.
In order to get a refund I would send a letter into Thomson Customer Service, I have sent a letter in just expressing my general disappointment but I know some premium class passengers on the flight I was speaking to were offered £80 refund as they still got the premium service.
We were told our Outbound leg would be changed but not the inbound. The cabin crew on the flight told us there would be Thomson staff handing out letters but they were no where to be seen.
If you want the address for the Customer Service let me know and ill post it for you.

Thanks for your quick reply we have also upgraded to premium so i wouldnt be at all happy if it was swapped to a plane with short haul config we upgraded cos my patner is 6 foot to give him that more leg room we'll just have to wait and see. I will get in touch the day before i know this flight out of manchester is only going fortnightly

Like I said I would imagine you will be fine at the minute with the increased summer traffic aircraft spend less time on the ground and can develop technical issues. After the summer season when traffic calms down the aircraft spend longer in-between flights allowing maintenance to spend more time looking over them and preventing any issues.
Just drop a post the day before and ill be more than happy to let you know.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I would really appreciate it if you could post that address for me.
The crew onboard the plane told us we would get our full upgrade refunded as we didn't have IFE etc, the only different thing I think was the free drinks as we were told we could spread out through the front cabin to get more room but to stay in the cabin so we would get our free drinks. Some people did try and come and sit in this cabin from economy but they were told they had to move back.
We were only told that there were maintenance problems with the plane and that was the 1st aircraft they could get to bring us home. We were lucky in that we were only there for 7 days and we had the proper long haul aircraft on the way out, passengers that had been there 14 days flew out on a short haul plane too.
Many thanks
Susan
Yes the passengers there for 14 days arrived on the plane that brought me home and we were not expecting that plane either but at least it had the IFE yours did not.
It does seem that Thomson is having a few problems this summer with there Long Haul 767's that they need to get sorted otherwise its going to be a rather expensive summer for Thomson.
The plane that should of brought you home is out of service so at least you can rest assure they were not lying to you. With me they couldn't give us a straight answer for the change on the inbound flight everyone had a different reason.
We were suppose to get letters not just premium but all the passengers but there was noone from Thomson waiting when we arrived.
The address for Customer Support is you may be better calling them on 0844 871 0882 for a refund.

I placed at the top of my letter Complaints Team so they could forward it to the correct department but you do not have to.
TOM196/7 has had a bad record over the last few weeks. I do hope this does not discourage you from flying Thomson in the future. It has not me, I was just disappointed in the way no one could provide a straight answer.

Thank you so much for the address and the quick reply
