We done this ourselves also, Go to the registrar in the Uk to get your Non impediment forms £30, Next is eithier Antalya or Izmir consulate, We chose Antalya, Summer working hours:
08:45 - 13:00 hrs and 14:00 - 17:00 hrs Monday to Friday, .Fevzi Çakmak Caddesi
1314 Sokak 6/8 Elif Apt.
Antalya
Where you hand over your Birth certificate, Passport, Decree absolute, Non impediment form for translation, Price for this service is £126 or 330 Lira, Your then passed your translated document and asked to go to the Govenors office in Antalya note this office closes for lunch at 12.00 to 1pm. You then go to the Govenors office they stamp your translated certificate and also write something else on the back of the form.
You then have to go to the Registrar in Turkey in our case Marmaris this building is about 300 meters away from the Attaturk statue and Bar street it's easily found as it has a Turkish flag outside and security officers whom dont ask any questions, You then arrange your wedding with them wherever you choose, You must also present them with 6 passport photographs, Your then given a document and asked to go to a Goverment hospital to see a Doctor, This hospital is situated just up the road from Tansas beside the Dolmus station walking away from the beach from their walk over the road and the hospital is on the other side, Go to reception hand over your document and then your taken to the doctor whom looks at your document and smiles, He then takes you to another Doctor whom signs your forms, Note no blood tests here for British natiuonals eg, two people from Uk getting married, Then you go back to the registrar hand back that form and your asked to come back the day before your wedding to pay the 100 Lira for the services of the registrar and a translater, You can allso pay that at the same time your in if you wish. Nothing to this at all.
Thanks for you time
there is a boat in fetiye that does weddings they have a web site the ceromany is conducted in the evebing as the sun is setting it looks so romantic i think the boat was owned by carol and tayfun but i could be wrong. this would give your guests the option to stay in hissaronu but have easy acess to the boat for the reception.
I got married in Bodrum. It is possible to get everything sorted out in 3 days if you want to but it may involve a bit of rushing around. I think rwb46 has described pretty well what you have to do. We had to get blood tests but whether that as a rule for Bodrum or just because I was marrying a Turkish man I don't know.
We acually got married in February and had our wedding party in September so my family could all come over, but we did it all ourselves.
Hope it all goes well

i think you are leaving it very tight, it will take up a whole day to go to antalya which will be the nearest consulate to olu deniz and you need to do this first and it will be a very long and tiring day , then you will have to spend half a day in fethiye again this is the nearest to olu deniz for the registrar, but its only about 8 miles away so not so far from olu deniz, so that will only leave 1 day before your wedding, and after travelling from the uk would you be up for a long and hot trip to antalya the first day of your holiday, only you can decide, but i think it would be better if you could to give yourselves about 5-7 days really . blood tests are only needed if you are marrying a turk from the fethiye office, the hospital asks you if you are well and stamps the papers and charges you for the privilege. marmaris office would be too far if you are based in olu deniz its a good 2 - 2.5 hrs away
It's perfectly feasible to do this in 3 days without a problem providing of course you have all your papers, leave at 6am via car, Fethiye to Antalya 3 hours, 1 hour for consulate and Govenors office, 3 Hours back to Fethiye, 1pm go to registrar in Fethiye whom send you to goverment hospital then back to registrar pay for it, Then look forward to your wedding.
If you want I can help you with the Antalya part just pm me here.
sorry rob but i think you are being totally unrealistic to get all that done in 1 day, not allowing any delays that happened to us, it took us a lot longer than 1 hr to sort out our paper work in antalya, we were based in antalya and it still took about 4-5 hours, mainly waiting around , same happened in fethiye , we were there around 4 hrs again, waiting for the registrar to appear, then long wait at the hospital, back to the registrar to be told he had gone out for an hr, so you must be prepared for these long delays
Hi does anyone know if 300 days have to pass following my divorce in england before i can marry a turkish man?
Perhaps it took you that time ellie_meg, But I did the spadework long before I entered Turkey, I made my appointment with Antalya and forwarded all my documents which I scanned then sent them via email beore I left the Uk, So really all I had to do was collect the form which was already waiting for me subject to me handing over all the real legal documents that they requested, This only took 15 minutes inside the Consulate office, And a further 15 minutes inside the Turkish Govenors office, In the registrar it took 10 minutes, In the hospital again 10 minutes, I cant see the problem, This all would have been done a lot quicker if the road that I used the last time I went to Antalya was open but unfortunately as the road was melting all over they closed the whole road making us take the mountain road which was about 100klm more.
Bevandaydin, The best person to ask that question is surely your Husband to be, He might not know but for sure his family wil live in Turkey and they will find out via phone.
Hi does anyone know if 300 days have to pass following my divorce in england before i can marry a turkish man?
This shouldn't apply to foreigners anymore although there may be some registrars who are still asking for 300 days to pass between the divorce and the new marriage. The best thing to do would be to ask the registrar who will marry you. If they say that you have wait for this period, the way to get out of this is by court order, you have to prove that you are not pregnant an get the judge to remove the waiting period.
i also contacted the consulate beforehand, so i think you must have been lucky the day you went, it took us a lot longer and maybe fethiye office is slower than marmaris, but we were warned before we went it might take a while, its the waiting to be seen etc that took the time, the registrar kept disappearing for ages both time we went to see him, same applied with the governments office, waiting outside for a while at each room as we had to go in a few different rooms, the consulate wasnt so bad the first time as we had an appointment but when we returned it was closed for lunch etc, we even had the hotel manager with us at fethiye ,hoping that would speed things up but it didnt. so what im saying is it can take quite a while so dont rely on it being done in 1 day as antalya is a long way away too, be interesting to know if anyone else managed to do it like rob in a few hours to both antalya and marmaris or fethiye office, maybe we were unlucky with them being busy the day we went , who knows, but i certainly would allow an extra day for unforeseen circumstances
We had to go to Izmir to get my paperwork sorted out and it took most of the day what with 3½ hours bus journey each way and them closing for a couple of hours for lunch. Things can take a long time whatever you are doing in Turkey. We then had to go to the hospital and wait until the next day for our blood test results before seeing the doctor for the reports and then going to the regisrty ofice. Obvioulsy it can all be done in one day but I wouldn't like to guarantee it.
Things in Antalya would only take about an hour or less in total if planned properly and necessary appointments etc have been made in advance. (Around 15 mins at the Consulate and 15 mins or so at the Governor's Office (Valilik)). Again, if planned well, the part in Fethiye should also not take any longer than an hour in total.
Obviously this is our job and we do this every day so it is bound to be easier for us then for a couple going on their own but I just wanted to write and say that it can all be done comfortably in a day and a half, but if you don't plan ahead (or if you are unlucky) it may take longer. Even then though I would say that 3 days is enough time to leave before the wedding, unless you feel you need longer to relax and rest before the wedding.
Oh and one other thing I forgot to say The British consulate are moving this month to other premises on the other side of Antalya. Full details of that can be sought at the website, And as said providing you make your apointment and email/Fax all your details you wont have to wait at the consulate.
thanks for that hayal, im going over in 4 weeks so we will take a trip to the registrar
i agree hayal a day and half as you suggested is definitely more reasonable than 1 day , we did it it in a day and a half and it was fine . good luck to you all and hope all goes well
