thanks for the info about where the plaza pallas is, I know whereabouts Popeyes is so that is helpful. Has anyone been to the Tsvilli Admirals this year? What are they like, heard there are lots of people on All Inclusive, long waits at the bar and not too many English people.

depends on the cigs you want, i get l&b and they were anywhere between 28 and 30 euros per 200 depends where you went for them, as for food and drink ive no idea on laganas but most places are pretty reasonable anyway

was in laganas three weeks ago, superkings black were 31 euro for 200, mythos was 3 euro in most places we saw, cocktails 3 euro, it depends were you eat really, we were all inclusive so it didn't bother us.
but looking at some of the prices, some of the main meals were 8, 9, or 10 euro, then your drinks on top
i would consider all inclusive if i were you

Can anyone suggest a good hotel in Zante please, near the beach and suitable for 2 adults and a 16 year od teenager? What is the best beach and the best resort in your opinions? We were there 15 years ago! and stayed in Kalamaki which was nice, we don't really want to go to Laganas because that would be too busy for us. Can anyone help please.

hi moved your post to the Zakynthos thread... don't disregard Laganas there are some smashing hotels on the outskirts of the village where its fairly quiet and on the beech as well... the one we used and found fantastic was mediteranean hotel

The airport is the worst I've been to, but it is just for a few hours of your holiday and Zante is so nice it is worth it! I wouldn't let it put you off.

Couple of months late (but better late than never!) for the review of our hols to zante in July.

We were booked AI for 1 week at the Arkadianos Aparthotel in Agios Sostis - a warning for everyone - DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! This was one of the most awful hotels i hope i ever have to stay in. The staff, when they are around and not sleeping, are very rude, especially the manager and his wifes not much better. I am 23 and my boyfriend is 24 and it is very intimidating being around these people. We one night had our key go missing, they called the manager in and he got right in my face and was shouting at me, swearing. Trying to put the blame on us and make us pay more money to get back into our room. We had everything in our room, passports, insurance, money...it was not nice being told we were not allowed back in. The hotel itself is falling apart. I could go on and on all day, but dont want to relive the nightmare! If anyone does want to know any more on this hotel, please ask.

Apart from the hotel from hell it is a nice quiet location with lovely views and Zante is very pretty but after this experience i think we have been put off goin back here! Shame because im sure this Island has a lot more to offer but we saw the rough side...

Hi,we are visiting Zante for the 1st time the first week in june,just wondered what the weather is like at that time of year,also what is the mosquitoe situation like? i tend to get bitten a lot!.thanks Pete

You should have some nice hot weather at the start of June, you may need a very light jacket for late evenings but then again you may not. There are mossies on Zante but I didn't find them much of a problem when we were there (although it's a few years ago now). Maybe another member here will be able to give you some more up to date info on mossies in June.

Thinking of trying Zakynthos this year. Has anyone found any particular resort or hotel to stay in that's suitable for someone with walking difficulties? Can do a few steps or stairs as long as there's a handrail but really looking for somewhere close to shops, restaurants/bars and beach to avoid walking far. Are there footpaths or do you have to walk on the edge of the road? Any scooter hire available and would this be advisable?

hi, we have booked into the Eleon grand hotel in Tragaki end of May, now being told it only opens on May 25th, does anyone know anything about this new 5 star hotel, or is anyone else booked in there, somewhat apprehensive now and wondering if i should cancel.

How about Kalamaki?

A 10 min journey from the airport to resort, much wider roads than typical Greek resorts with some pavements, great selection of bars and restaurants and lively but not too lively.

Try the Venus Hotel. It's 2-3 mins walk from the main road.

I've chosen Zante but can't decide which resort out of Tsivili, Alykanas or Argassi?
We will be self catering so nice restaurants and bars are important and a selection of each. Don't know if anyone know which has the nicest beach? Any input on these would be helpful, thanks.
