We have just returned from Sun Island. Very interesting holiday!!
Sun Island and Sun Tropical are identical complexes separated by a wall/gate. You can go into either hotel but can only get drinks/food at the hotel you are staying at.
Sun Tropical is a First Choice Holiday village so full of English/families and lots of children. Lots going on and the facilities (food centre, supermarket, laundry, pub etc) are all open.
Sun Island for the week of half term was full of Spanish OAP's. My partner and I laughed all week and kept saying we were on a SAGA holiday way before our time (we're only in our 40's). I would say about 90% of the people staying there were over 70 with only a handful of British and some other nationalities.
Sun Island itself is in a lovely setting. The pool was very peaceful compared to the busy Sun Tropical next door (infact some Sun Tropical guests chose to spend the day by OUR pool because of this). The food was good, typical buffet food, nothing fantastic but there was always something to eat, salad, fish, meat etc.
The rooms (many set around their own pool) are spacious and clean.
Entertainment at Sun Island was non-existant.
If you have children I would book Sun Tropical, there is just not enough going on at Sun island.
If you want to know any more feel free to message me!
