Ah Alex you have been watching to much Jurrasic Park films :really !!! I don't know if you can pay for the restaurant seperate but visiting the park by yourself is a lot cheaper than going through a rep. The camel ride is fun and if your are slightly heavier than ur other half they tie a sand bag to your seat. I'm sure our camel was broke ... or I broke it when I got on :rofl

:think Hi, we are booked to go here through firstchoice in December but i have seen on other forums about firstchoice not useing this hotel as of next year and now on here under the reviews section someone has posted that firstchoice wont be useing this hotel as of October? Im confused and slightly worried as we really want to go here! Does anyone know? Thanks

Just checked on their website Mainy and it's letting me book 17th December so I can't see any problem. They also say it's exclusive to FC in the UK.

I think it may still be exclusive to first choice but it might not be classed as a holiday village. The brochure only goes up to october and next years one moves to the Flamingo appartments is there not a helpdesk number on the website that you can double check with????

This hotel is now featured in the thomas cook brochure ;) .

The hotel in the Thomas Cook brochure isnt Sun Tropical, its the hotel next door called Sun Island.

Mainy - we booked to stay here last year and was still going up until a week ago. We decided to change our booking as we were worried about many reviews we'd read and also the fact that it had been dropped by first choice.

You can still book for here, if you look on the first choice website you can see it, so would also get the same deals instore. From April or May 2010, the first choice holiday village will be Flamingo, but up til then you can still book this place.

I have had different stories form First Choice about why they have not renewed. One person told me it was the hotel that didn't renew with them. Another said it is due to the merge of First Choice and Thomson and that FC are using the Thomson holiday village (or whatever it is they call it), another didn't give me any reason, but agreed with me that it was a bit worrying. I emailed my local FC agent and told her my worries, she said she'd checked their review centre (a special place where only travel agents leave reviews), she said there had been no reviews since June 09, but there was no bad reviews. My concern is that things have changed since then.

We may have wasted our money by changing, but we didn't want to take that risk.

I wish ours were still that age, holiday villages are great for little ones. We're getting excited and trying to ignore any negative comments and deal with things IF they happen.

I try to ignore bad reviews as so often people seem to live to complain.

A few years ago we had booked for HV in Turkey then I found this site and read lots of bad reviews about food poisoning and nearly cancelled. However the food there was fab (the best in a HV so far).

We went to HV in Eqypt last year and they had bad reviews most of which were un founded.

Looking forward to the holiday especially my son who loves the kids clubs.

Yeah we're the same, we did Turkey a couple of years ago too, loved it, only thing was it was very big which I found too much without a wheelchair so this year looking forward to having my powerchair to get around. We did algarve last year and the reviews were awful but it was one of the best holidays we've had. No where's perfect but it often has a lot to do with what you make of it.

We're going on the 8th too, what airport are you flying from, we are going from Glasgow. We've been to Lanzarote a few years ago and did Rancho Texas one evening which was great fun. :D , we also went up fire mountain and had the bbq volcano dinner. For days out we hired a car last time and went to the Green Caves and the Cactus Gardens. Don't know what we'll be able to do this time as it may be more difficutl now I am in a wheelchair but will be going back to Rancho Texas. :tup
