Hi, im planning a 2 weeks holiday to Goa in December 2011, hopefully departing around 26/27th Dec.
I have already been to North Goa 7 times, so i think its time for a change.

Can anyone recommend a resort in South Goa?

We are a young family, wanting basic accomodation with a swimming pool. So either a 2 or 3 star.

Nice beach, quieter than Baga/Calangute road in the evening, but still plenty of restaurants and shops.

I know that most resorts in Goa will be busy due to it being New years eve, but preferably i would want to go somewhere quieter than calangute.

I dont mean like a ghost town , i would still like to be able to walk to shops and restaurants from my hotel.
Maybe we could choose the busiest resort in South Goa? this may tick our boxes.

Last but not least, would i be better booking a package holiday or getting a flight to Mumbai and a conecting flight to Goa, and booking our accomodation in advance but privately?
